ATARI7800fan #1 Posted July 20, 2011 Well it looks like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been announced. While I can't say I am surprised I am a little disappointed they would do this so soon. It looks like they have added a few new maps, made some tweaks, added a few more new characters(12 by the sounds of it) and have decided to charge people 60 dollars for it. While some of the first 4 announced make sense one I question Hawkeye. How is he I have never heard of him before. If anything I hope the 12 number is correct and I hope they Add Jon Talbain. I am part of a thread that has lasted over 1 year since the fist one was announced that has asked for him. We are up to 272 pages long and I really hope they do. He is a awesome character from Darkstalkers and is not like anyone else in the game so far. They have announced so far. FireBrand, Hawekeye, Ghost Rider, and of course Strider. Can't wait to see how the other characters are, also happy I was cautious and decided to wait before I bought the first one. Here is a video. and some game play. Not that I haven't heard of them, but that I don't give a crap about them. A bunch of fan faves from the past couple of years that will be forgotten again soon. Gimme some more classics. NightSprinter #8 Posted July 21, 2011 Some of the choices seemed interesting, but the voice they gave Strider and two specific characters (Phoenix Wright, and effectively-unknown Marvel character Rocket Raccoon? Really?) just made me wonder "what the hell, people?". This is also the FIRST time that I've ever seen a revision of a Marvel Vs. game. I really wonder if Capcom's even thinking anymore. Yeah, even with what you see for my avatar icon, I still shook my head at some of the character choices. I'm going to be playing some Shinobi on my Master System if anyone needs me.. Spoon #9 Posted July 21, 2011 Rocket Raccoon is what got me into comics, and he's been one of my favorite characters ever since. The fact I can finally play as him in a video game will have me pre-ordering this without a second thought. Although if he wasn't in it, I'd probably be waiting for this game to hit $20. This is a series, old school type of fighting game not Super Smash bros. Though I can't wait to kick the crap out of Pheonix wright whenever I get the chance online. Figured you wouldn't be too excited about Hawkeye though, now that his addition has made the Taskmaster sort of superfluous. His super did look cool though. I didn't get SSF4 so I'm thinking I'll buy Arcade Edition soon. There is enough upgrade for me to get that. I also have the Sanwa fight stick for SF4 so I get the full fun of it all. That same stick works well with MvC3 and the new Mortal Kombat layout so I'm all about it. As for online play, I'm completely used to having my face ruined so I normally just stay away from that. I'm sure they're baffled, since they're just doing everything they've been doing with SF2 since the beginning - and that was a hit! Repeatedly! On the plus side, when this thing hits it likely means the current version will take a big drop in price. So I'll probably end up getting -that- instead of this ultimate garbage. But that'll depend on how much of a price drop it has. In the end there's only like 1-3 characters I give a damn about in the game so I can pass it up and/or just go back to playing MvC2. After I heard that they were releasing new characters, I got a little excited, especially for Hawkeye and Ghost Rider. MvC3 and MK9 are two modern games that have made me happy. But then finding out that the characters for MvC3 are not DL for $5 apiece a la carte, but part of a whole new game for $40? Smells like a pile of crap to me. I'm not just thinking of going back to MvC2... This kind of turdheap makes me want to sell my 360 and just go all retro, ending with the Dreamcast. Awful, Capcom, just awful.
