youki #2 Posted July 22, 2011 Does anyone know more about this? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250859725836 Don't know that things. But Chinese cloned tons of console generally with extremely bad quality. What i wonder see that console, is, if it is well a "colecovision" clone compatible with a real colecovision, how do you select "Skill level" ? It seems there is no numeric pad to do that. As there is pad instead of joystick , i think this console is from after 1985 . And the fact it is white confirm that. I'd think it would be more a SG 1000 clone than a colecovision. but i don't think Mr Do for SG 1000 exists.
ozma wars #3 Posted July 22, 2011 I always wondered why China produced so many clones of the Atari and never thought to the Intellivision or Intellivision...good news. Hope to find them again and again. Possibly to a lower price.....may be with all games built in ! wow
Yurkie #4 Posted July 22, 2011 From the auction discription: "Now, I do not know what channel this Chinese system uses, and thus I was not able to get it to come on and work so you'll have to play around with it... and you're buying it as-is." Sounds like it is a piece of junk and the guy is trying to get rich off of it. It doesn't say ColecoVision on it, so I think the guy is making up a story. The big question for me is "Does J-F want it?"
retroillucid #5 Posted July 22, 2011 The big question for me is "Does J-F want it?" I would certainly buy it, but not a at that price, that's too much IMO ... for a chinesse clone at least....

Good to hear. I was worried you might go "purple box" nuts over it. Yeah but the Purple Box is an "official" and unreleased Coleco product If that was the case here, I would buy it for sure I don't own a Dina system either.... and no, I'm not interested to buy one... Yurkie #9 Posted July 22, 2011 I feel the same way as you buddy. If it was working and tested with a few original ColecoVision Cartridges then it would be more appealing. I wouldn't like the NES pads what if CV controllers could be plugged into it.... As is it would be a $25 or $50 dollar flea market novelty item to me. +5-11under #10 Posted July 22, 2011 I'm very curious exactly what console this is a clone of. Not $500 curious, though. 32K? 1-PLAY/2-PLAY? 2 fire buttons? 2 other buttons? No numeric keypad? Mr. Do? Square bottom cart? The owl?
ColecoDan #11 Posted July 22, 2011 Definitely pretty cool but not $500 cool, I emailed him to ask where he got it but haven't received answer back yet.
newcoleco #12 Posted July 22, 2011 This auction doesn't make sense to me. First of all a 1-2 players button on the console. Not ColecoVision-like button! No numkeys. Not ColecoVision compatible then. The cartridge itself is shaped like an Atari2600 cartridge. If it's really for ColecoVision games, it's not for ColecoVision game cartridges.
Crazy Climber #13 Posted July 22, 2011 I'd think it would be more a SG 1000 clone than a colecovision. but i don't think Mr Do for SG 1000 exists. I would go with SG1000 clone, remember, in the world of Chinese knock off's just because Mr. Do is on the label of the game....that doesn't mean it is actually Mr Do. Could be anything on that cartridge
jblenkle #14 Posted July 23, 2011 The controllers look like NES controllers, but the cartridge slot looks all wrong for NES games...anyone read Chinese? +frankodragon #18 Posted July 24, 2011 The same guy wants $100 for the creepy Action 52 pack-in comic Cheetahmen? The comic looks like it was done by a 5 year old.
thegamezmaster #19 Posted July 24, 2011 Too bad someone doesn't make a decent Colecovision or any clones of systems from then.
NIAD #20 Posted July 24, 2011 Too bad someone doesn't make a decent Colecovision or any clones of systems from then. We got a decent ColecoVision... it was made by Coleco and released in 1982! Plus if you want to supercharge your CV with some tremendous mods and refurbishing services, then you can send your system to Yurkie. He is THE MAN! A totally "Yurkified CV" will max out your appreciation of this tremendous videogame system.

retroillucid #22 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) Refurbished or not.... We also need a new ColecoVision system The problem is the Power Supply in my opinion, those big brick are not so reliable after all those years... From what I've seen in all those years is the Canadian Power Supply is more reliable than its US brother Don't get me wrong though, I own Yurkie's refurbished stuff and I'm very happy with, Yurkie is doing great work over all his refurbished services. But we also need a new system in the end Edited July 25, 2011 by retroillucid
Ikrananka #23 Posted July 25, 2011 The problem is the Power Supply in my opinion, those big brick are not so reliable after all those years... From what I've seen in all those years is the Canadian Power Supply is more reliable than its US brother Well I have successfully completed an internal power mod and it works great - no more power brick. I will over the coming months be completing the mod on another system and will document instructions on how to do it.

But we also need a new system in the end Not to be a S.O.B., but we did get a new ColecoVision system... it was called the Stand-Alone ADAM Computer! You can add a modified PC Power Supply (even install it internally as there is A LOT of room under the hood) and play ColecoVision carts on it without the Printer, Keyboard or Data Drive. Add a 5-pin DIN Monitor Cable and you can output to a Composite Video display without having to modify the system. Just having some fun and playing devil's advocate.
