PacManPlus #76 Posted April 26, 2013 Hate to bump an old thread, but I have to state again that I *WISH* this was getting made. I'm coming into a bunch of 5200 games and it would be great to have a smaller version of that system.
Greg2600 #77 Posted April 26, 2013 Sadly the OP jumped on board, posted those pictures, and then vanished. That said, I'm mostly okay with the size and the dreaded joystick, it's the mushy buttons which I can't deal with.
toptenmaterial #78 Posted April 27, 2013 Cool necrobump, PMP. I have thoroughly enjoyed rereading this. It is really a marvel how he shrunk that huge motherboard.
robertski #79 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) I dont get it, This is almost too fantastic.. This guy comes up with this crazy unit, and , to me, it is too good to be true. I am seeing him play the thing in a video, but ..I want a unit like this.. WT808, were are you.... All it is is a circuit board holding 4 original Atari chips and the rest are SMD?? and that controller board.. it is fantastic. AT least post the design criterion, so all of us with enough monies can get together and build this thing.. That's all I want.... carmel_andrews #82 Posted July 26, 2013 Any chance of a PAL version (since 5200 was NTSC only) also how about an updated version that has XL/XE like bank switching, which means bigger games and also it would be a lot easier to port XL/XE specific games to the 5200, like crownland, yoomp and similar

Seethransom #84 Posted August 1, 2013 That is too wicked! I'd love to see it in a scale size replicated case. Saves some Living room space!
+Gemintronic #85 Posted August 1, 2013 Compact 5200's may be nice. Frankly, I'm satisfied with my four door model. More room for groceries in the boot.
Gabriel #86 Posted August 1, 2013 The size of the system is part of the intangible joy for me. Wt808's stuff is still amazing, though. I don't want one, but dammit Wt808, that stuff ROCKS.
PacManPlus #87 Posted August 5, 2013 That is too wicked! I'd love to see it in a scale size replicated case. Saves some Living room space! This. wt808, I hope you're not just teasing us. I am looking forward to purchasing one of these. Bob
Lynxpro #88 Posted August 7, 2013 Very impressive! Off topic but awesome 3rd Doctor avatar! Arguably the best incarnation to this day [although I'll defend McGann to the death of my internet service connection]...
Lynxpro #89 Posted August 7, 2013 This is great. With how large the original system is, I think many Atari fans would enjoy this. This board is so small, it could probably even be used for a benheck style handheld version of the 5200 as well as a tiny consolization. Maybe at last we can get some new clones of systems that haven't been cloned yet if people do things like this enough. I have to go to work so I can't go through the 4 thread pages right now but it would be kinda funny to put it into a 7800 case...you'd have to obviously mod further for the joystick ports but still! Maybe parting out a Flashback I would be more appropriate since nobody would cry over that...
famicommander #91 Posted August 15, 2013 Is that a portable 5200? IS THAT A PORTABLE 5200? Man, between you and that guy consolizing the Game Gear I am going to spend all my money on this forum.

Jess Ragan #93 Posted August 16, 2013 You've given the 5200 the Ben Heckendorn treatment? Nifty. It's a really sleek design too, from what little you've revealed!

JadeETC #98 Posted August 23, 2013 Not that it isn't awesome, but I actually like the size of the 5200. It's defiantly a conversation starter.
