Brian O #5 Posted July 27, 2011 Yeah, it's in the arcade w/ the "Flashbacks" room. I put that in quotes, since the only old arcade machine in there is Atari's Hercules. Wonder where all the old arcade machines went. I used to enjoy going in there whenever I was down the shore. You close to Seaside? -B

You close to Seaside? -B No but last year we did an "arcade" trip in Jersey: Richie Knucklez in Flemington on Friday, Silverball Museum in Asbury Park on Saturday afternoon and then Flashbacks in Seaside Heights later that night.

+atari2600land #11 Posted July 28, 2011 Ever run into Snooki? Sorry, just had to ask. Anyway, I never was good at those stupid claw machines. I think they're just ripoffs to get people's money.

No, thank God. Yeah, those claw machines suck. I knew I wouldn't win any of the Pac-Man stuff, but I had to at least try -B

Dauber #23 Posted March 26, 2012 Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but regarding the lack of arcade games at Flashbacks...I was in Seaside Heights right around the time you were there, Brian O -- just a week or two earlier, actually...and what happened was they divided Flashbacks into two separate game rooms -- one with useless crap, and another with the classic arcade games -- and the same ones they've had year after year after year, except that every year there's one more that doesn't work....and when I was there in July 2011? They almost all cost 50 cents to play!!! WTF!?
Brian O #24 Posted March 27, 2012 Hey Dauber -- The last time I was in Flashbacks they had removed all of the classic arcade games. The only thing left was the Hercules pinball game from Atari Nothing lasts forever, I guess. -B
Dauber #25 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) Hey Dauber -- The last time I was in Flashbacks they had removed all of the classic arcade games. The only thing left was the Hercules pinball game from Atari Nothing lasts forever, I guess. Well, okay, let me clarify...I too saw what you saw -- Flashbacks with no classic arcade games. I LOUDLY voiced my disgust for any passers-by to hear, my wife trying to assure me it's not the end of the world. But on the other side of that whole complex was ANOTHER room that said "Flashbacks" -- a new space -- that DID have the arcade games. My guess is you didn't see that (or maybe that room was eliminated between the time I was there and you were there). In fact, I just checked my wife's Facebook page -- she has a picture of me playing the Ms. Pac-Man machine there from July 2011 - sometime during the week of July 17 - July 23 (attached)...in fact, I remember getting quarters so I could play Q*Bert but the machine was broken, so I played Millipede and Ms. Pac-Man as consolation, while my wife played Frogger and Centipede...and I found out after trying to play Tapper that the "tap" didn't work...arrghhh!!!! And she also has a similar picture of the Angry Birds claw game. The games were there -- just on the other side of the venue... Anyway, I think when we go back this year, I'm not even going to bother...I'll just try to make it to Yestercades in Red Bank.
