Gamecube kiosk at Goodwill Saginaw, MI

Recommended Posts

For the longest time I had expected to find an Adventurevision or even a MISB Pippin before finding any retail store kiosk due to it's rarity but when I checked Goodwill store in Saginaw (off Bay Rd, 1/2 mi south of Tittabawassee Rd, next to Old Country Buffet and Family church store) they had a Gamecube kiosk in decent shape with Gamecube system, 3rd party controller, and a TV. TV remote was there but I didn't check if it's the right remote for the included TV or not. They want $149.99, and is sold as-is.

I do not have a truck to haul it or a safe place to store it so if you want em, you bribe a couple strong men to come with you, drive there & pick up yourself. Call ahead first just in case someone called dibs. The kiosk is located near the middle of the store, where large furniture are displayed and not far from where book shelves are. The kiosks were still available when I left a bit before 10 AM today.

They also had lots of Atari 2600 carts, nothing special or rare though I picked up Koolaid Man as mine kept getting broken :/ They had a Genesis console and a few carts and some PS2 and XBox games. All sports when I checked so I left them.

I paid $127.50 for one off ePay in Indiana around the time of the flood. I explained that I could not pick it up because of the flood. They kept telling me it was fine, take all the time I needed, stayed in constant contact but never gave me their address. A few months later when I had my house, I asked for the address to come pick it up (mind you it was prepaid). They cussed me out and told me they aren't a storage facility. Was paid with paypal balance, too long for any recourse of any kind. Still bitter about it. One of the few kiosks I still don't have. Wish one would show up around here. A buddy of mine even just got one (I guess I use the term loosely) I'm sure he is trying to see how much he can get out of me eventually, he doesn't collect Kiosks, and knows I do.

Oh well, too bad you couldn't grab it.

Unless you have an arcade room or something, these kiosks get old fast and just take up too much space. I've had a Ps2 and gamecube kiosk they both made it to the junkyard once the wow factor wore off.

It looks very useful-- it can use your TV, a DVD player and any other game system can be hooked up to it. Also, you can set your clock, coffee, hang clothes on it, a number of uses. Plus it's TALL and not spreading out like so many systems tend to do. Very stackable.

If I were local there, I'd want it.

I saw some local guy around the area was selling an xbox and a game cube kiosk. He was near Cleveland, Ohio, I think it was Lakewood and wanted 200 each. Seemed like a good deal and also looked more complete than this one. Although, I think it was different in a few ways (domed clear cover over gamecube and two controllers). I could dig up the ad if anyone in the area is interested.

Thats a bit upsetting. Throwing away things like that just isn't cool. I made a comment once about throwing away gaming stuff and folks started talking about kicking anyone out of the community that throws things like that away. Just saying.

I agree. Stick in the mud syndrome is my observation. The Eeyore routine gets just as old even faster than some peoples interests. Time for happy meds again? :P Whose a grumpy guss!? Eeyore, that's right Eeyore. Give us a smile grumpy butt, come on, you can do it. We noticed ya! In the words of NE146, go rub one off. It will make you happy again.

I've got over 12 full size kiosks, and I hadn't lost interest yet. LOL, but then I have a vast collection of games as well. Clearly though, with all those kiosks and thousands of games, like Eeyore has said many a time, I clearly don't know the value of anything. Guess I'm always the exception to every rule.

Don't feel too bad missing out on this, that doesn't appear to be a real GameCube kiosk. Looks like something from a third party shop maybe? Anyone know the history for that particular style? The ones I've seen look like this:

It never ceases to amaze me what shows up at every goodwill except the ones in my area.

I agree

All I can assume in my area is that waffles are a delicacy, because I find 15,000 different style of waffle makers. The best video game sighting I've ever seen at goodwill is Pokemon Red for $2.99.

...and I've actually been looking for a waffle iron for several weeks now. Nothing here in Tennessee.

You should become a waffle collector. Make different waffles from all over the world or something! :D

True, I mean if I throw all these boring old game systems and games in the trash I could make room for a mighty nifty waffle iron collection.

They were huge, basically useless, and weren't worth anything. Had this been a kiosk for some much older system and I would have kept it or found someone who might want it, but these things while hard to find are still fairly common.

Other people getting upset because someone throws away their own personal property that they don't want anymore?:

My GW location always brings in the weirdest stuff. Chinese Famiclones, broken wireless controllers, and a mountain of confoundingly complex computer steering wheels and joysticks/flightsticks. But, they always overcharge ($20 for a USB controller!), so even if you do find something good, it won't be cheap. Edited by lisalover1

They are not worth much now but they are part of gaming history, and one that someone would have been happy to save from the trash if you weren't. Fairly common now, true, but in 20 years who knows, and there will still be interested people.
