Inky #1 Posted January 2, 2003 I got the Jakks Pacific in my annual gift exchange with my friends.. While I appreciate the gift (and think its pretty fun in its own right), the differences that I noted disappointed me.. First, PONG was not released on the 2600 (as PONG), sound is not the same, but the most glaring problem I found was that of the 3 games that were included that had easter eggs, NONE of the versions on this thing have the eggs.... Adventure only displays the word 'text'. This tells me that the games were not emulated. Still, it's entertaining, and I love the volleyball on it. Bivotar #2 Posted January 2, 2003 A friend of mine received one for Christmas and I had a chance to check it out. Very cool packaging and concept! It's nuts having what is essentially a working Atari enclosed in a joystick! After playing with it some, it seems more of a novelty to me, aimed at people who want a quick nostalgia kick. Not the "collector" or actual player of 2600 games. The front end menu is pretty cool, the game selection so-so (paddle games with a joystick?!?!!), and the help screens are cool. The games themselves aren't bad, but they seemed off (speedwise) and the sound was awful. Overall pretty cool, but I don't feel really compelled to go out and pick one up. King Atari #3 Posted January 2, 2003 At any rate, Asteroids, Centipede, and Yars' Revenge still play okay. They need to make a separate paddle controller.
