Red 5 #1 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) About 15 years ago I pulled the old Atari from my youth out of the attack of my parents house. Seven years ago I joined AtariAge and started talking to all of you fine people. A few weeks ago I finally hit the magic mark of 600 unique Atari games (major label variations included) I also just finished making a complete 7800 collection with all of the NTSC released 7800 carts which is another fun achievement. I am also closing in on finishing the 5200 collection. I will be posting all of the other photos in the "show us your collection" thread, but as this was always about collecting 2600 stuff for me, without further ado, here is what 600 atari carts (and starpath tapes) looks like in my basement. Thanks to everyone here who helped me get there! Edited August 6, 2011 by Red 5

cvga #3 Posted August 6, 2011 Congrats! Awesome looking collection. I love to see how people organize/store their games. BTW - How do you count games? Does Eggomania with a fancy handle and Eggomania with a more normal cart shape (I saw both in your picture) count as one game or two?
Deja-Q #4 Posted August 6, 2011 WOW, very impressive collection! Congratulations  I also like the wall of carts. Very cool rack

Red 5 #7 Posted August 6, 2011 BTW - How do you count games? Does Eggomania with a fancy handle and Eggomania with a more normal cart shape (I saw both in your picture) count as one game or two? Yeah, I do count cart variations too. Label variations and cart type variation both count to me. And yes... I do need more boxes. 200+ boxes though, so not too bad. I always said my biggest mistake in collecting was not collecting boxes right out of the gate. I was just happy to get loose carts before. That's why I keep searcing Ebay and Craigslist for a fully functional flux capacitor.

Jr. Pac #9 Posted August 6, 2011 Really great collection! Is that a grey-labeled Pac-Man I see above the VCS box that's aove the Atari dust covers in an Activision style cart? Is there info about it, is the game any different from the regular Pac-Man, and I would like more pics of the label, please. Sorry if this sounds demanding, I'm just surprised! I've never seen a grey Pac-Man.

I've never seen a grey Pac-Man. I think the grey label pac-man is a Polyvox version. See Atarimania for Polyvox titles. Jr. Pac #11 Posted August 6, 2011 I'm talking about this one: I didn't see a label scan on Atarimania, so I have no idea..

Red 5 #13 Posted August 6, 2011 I'm talking about this one: I didn't see a label scan on Atarimania, so I have no idea.. That is a polyvox pacman. From South America. I can take a picture of the label later, but if I recall it is the same as the normal pacman label, just on a gray background.

Philflound #16 Posted August 8, 2011 Atarimania has tons of Polyvox games and they have grey labels. He just doesn't happen to have the end label scanned. Phil
Seob #17 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) More pac-man label variations are on atariguide Think you need a bigger house, to hold you're upcoming collection for the coming 15 years. Edited August 8, 2011 by Seob
Zwackery #18 Posted August 8, 2011 I need to rethink my media room and its display. I'm at 497 carts if I include PAL, loose titles, the Atari "Pak" releases, a few label variations, Zellers, Dactar, and so on. Subtracting those inclusions, I get down to 447 unique NTSC titles...all CIB. I am hoping to get to 450 by the end of this year by bumping a few things off my wanted list. I wish I had gone about it differently now. I am doing my best to avoid being bit by that bug... I'm nearing the 700 mark... and not much is left for me to collect in terms of what I need/want. I'm not really sure what I will do once I reach that point where I can't add to my collection. I just really don't know if the Boxed game is my cup of tea

Red 5 #23 Posted August 9, 2011 My Gosh, that is awesome! Does that Dark Tower still work? Thanks everyone. And yes... Dark Tower still works and is played often. Best 4 player game ever... well... except for Warlords...
Skylark68 #24 Posted August 10, 2011 My Gosh, that is awesome! Does that Dark Tower still work? Thanks everyone. And yes... Dark Tower still works and is played often. Best 4 player game ever... well... except for Warlords... My brother and I played this quite a few times. It was a good and interesting game. He ended up selling it to a guy in England via ebay a few years ago though.
