Rex Dart #26 Posted August 9, 2011 I started a new job a few months ago that leaves me with a LOT more free time, and I had expected that I would start playing more games, but I think these days I'm playing less than ever. Not sure why, but I'm just going through a phase where I'm not that interested in them. I haven't even been coming around here as often. I've never spent as much time playing games as most "gamers" do, though. Chris Maybe you've got less to "escape" from? I imagine that if I had a better job & more free time, I'd spend more time on non-gaming pursuits.
Bloodreign #27 Posted August 9, 2011 Not nearly as much as I used to, with work and all. I find myself on days off too burned out from the rest of the week to do anything, like hook up a system that might take 2 minutes. Fatigue can take a toll, it's just finding what I want to play that I haven't burned myself out on to play. Rotations tend to help, but it's finding what I want to rotate in and out gamewise that floors me, do I want to play this, or do I want to play that, in the end it winds up being nothing played. Shame on me!

DickNixonArisen #29 Posted August 10, 2011 Basically, this is my free-time fun-time priority structure: 1. Bedroom activities and/or associated relationship time 2. Fencing 3. D&D 4. Writing/music/misc creative 5. Playing videogames So, if I get divorced, can't find sparring partners and quit fencing, my D&D group breaks up, and I sell my guitars and equipment and stop doing all creative activities then I will basically be playing videogames in ALL of my spare time. I work 32 hours a week, plus four hours for driving, so 36; I sleep about eight hours a day - 8x7=56, so we're up to 92 hours, plus probably an hour a day for hygiene and bathroom, so 99 hours of my week are taken up by necessary activities. There are 168 hours in a week; so I could hypothetically play games for 69 hours a week in this situation, almost ten hours a day on average. If I managed to sleep six hours a day, I could spend literally half of my time playing videogames.
+therealbountybob #30 Posted August 10, 2011 Since I've been involved in the 8-bit high score club I play most days, it's nice to have a couple of goes on each game over the two weeks. Some games don't hold up for the two weeks we have to play them, but the classics like Millipede, Qix, Donkey Kong etc always have the one more go feel. Occasionally I have my best go early on in the period and then it's a struggle I like to beat my previous days score before turing the atari off Also just played a text adventure (The Pay Off) for the 1st time in years and really enjoying it thanks to the forum (someone else was posting about it) nice to join in and get (and give) a few hints... might add an monthly adventure to the HSC forum just for fun
Metal Ghost #31 Posted August 15, 2011 My gaming is VERY seasonal in nature. Almost non-existent in the summer, when I'd rather be workin on my car. Then slowly ramps up in the fall, which is when I start to visit AA and other gaming sites more regularly (I'm abit early now ), then full swing in the winter, just to die back down in the spring. Of course, family and work time are always present that allow more or less gaming time, depending on what's going on.
the-topdog #32 Posted August 15, 2011 Every day? A couple of times a week? Once a month? I was going to put a poll, but it got too confusing I play a minimum of one hour a day.
