+thegoldenband #1 Posted August 16, 2011 Somehow I don't remember reading this before: apparently Las Vegas Craps was completed, but never released. Has anything of the game ever surfaced -- screenshots, advertisements, reminiscences? I can't imagine it's a tragic loss, but...
+cmart604 #2 Posted August 17, 2011 Huh. Somehow I've never seen this before either. Like you said, maybe not the best seller....
Rev #3 Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) I don't think it would of been a good seller. It would of been better to just include it inter the other las vegas games. Edited August 17, 2011 by revolutionika
IntellivisionDude #4 Posted August 17, 2011 Ya they easily could of put Roulette and Craps on the same cart.

Cebus Capucinis #7 Posted August 17, 2011 the prime rib at harrahs gave me the las vegas craps. Damnit, beat me to something like that in advance. I applaud you. Vegas, the only place on Earth you can get both Craps AND Crabs!
+thegoldenband #8 Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) Of course, one might argue that LVC would've been redundant, since Las Vegas Roulette already is crap(s) on a cart. There aren't too many Mattel releases that I'm less interested in playing. LVR would've actually made a little more sense as a 2-in-1 roulette/craps game, but then I suppose you get into overlay issues. ghsqb #9 Posted August 17, 2011 I guess I'm a bit odd, but I actually think I would enjoy craps on the Inty. It's my favorite casino game, so I'd like to see what they could do with it on Inty.
IntellivisionGuy97 #10 Posted August 19, 2011 I believe the game was planned and it said in catalogs that it was coming up, but it was never released. I don't think any work was ever started on it.

Huh, that's almost exactly the opposite of what the Blue Sky Rangers page (linked above) says, i.e. that it was never announced, but was finished and paid for. Do you have any catalog scans that mention it?
IntellivisionGuy97 #12 Posted August 19, 2011 Oh, maybe I was wrong. It says in the Intellivision Library that APh completed it, but it says it was never announced or scheduled for release by marketing... I'll have to see if I can find a rom...

+Special Teams #14 Posted August 11, 2016 Huh. Somehow I've never seen this before either. Like you said, maybe not the best seller.... Isn't there mention of it or a picture on one of the Master Component boxes you have?
+cmart604 #15 Posted August 12, 2016 Isn't there mention of it or a picture on one of the Master Component boxes you have? I wondered about that when I saw this thread bumped. I'm out of town so I had to search for my post about the serial #111 box. The box has Las Vegas Roulette and Slots mentioned but I don't think it mentions craps at all. mr_me #16 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) In a 1979 demo video you can see a cartridge labelled "Las Vegas Roulette, Craps & Slots". That must have been the plan at Mattel at one point. I wonder what happened, not enough room on the cartridge, Craps wasn't good enough, Craps wasn't ready in time? Is Intellivisionlives assuming the game was completed because APh was paid for the work? I heard Intellivision Productions also has one of those early console boxes that might list this cartridge with a description. It's not in any dealer or consumer catalog that I know of. In 1980 these casino games weren't a bad idea. They could have been used to learn and practice these games before going to an actual casino, but they have to be accurate. Intellivision Blackjack is missing key features like splitting, insurance, and most importantly a fixed number of card decks and dealer shoe (practice card counting). Roulette limits you to only three bets. Craps looks complicated, it would be interesting to see Intellivision's version. Games For Your Intellivision #18 Posted August 19, 2016 Roulette was the most useless cartridge made....they should have put Slots and Craps on it to make it at least somewhat interesting
+intvsteve #19 Posted August 19, 2016 I have a very distinct memory of the ball in Roulette going rogue and wandering all over the screen. Has anyone else seen this? Not sure if there's a bug in the game, or if we had a buggy Master Component. We did let the smoke out of the one we initially had.
fdr4prez #20 Posted August 19, 2016 If anyone has played the Hoyle Casino game, or others like it, where you have all the casino games all-in-one, that'd be nice for Inty, so you can go game to game using the same wallet for all the games. And of course adding more games to choose from is always desirable. And if the cart has the save function then that'd be sweet, too, so your wallet is never lost; well losing all your money is par for the course, so let's say your wallet is not reset between gaming sessions. JasonlikesINTV #25 Posted August 21, 2016 I got really excited until I realized everyone was talking about Slots, not Sluts. My feelings on Craps remain unchanged.
