+Larry #54 Posted December 2, 2011 It would be very interesting to see where this stands. This was/is really simple: lift out the cpu, insert the memory upgrade, re-insert the cpu in the upgrade -- done. The prototype had some issues, but what prototype doesn't. I surely hope that Lotharek has continued with it's development. -Larry

Well, I see this on the first one: All rights reserved. Copyrights © 2011 www.lotharek.pl But I'm seeing nothing on the wiki about lotharek. One page is © 2011 and the other is ©2012 but that's really all I found. What are we supposed to be looking for exactly? The ebay account is still active. http://www.ebay.co.u...=&_trksid=p3686 <edit> Oh, the text on the wiki and the lotharek site are the same. I was looking at the Copyrights and thinking yeah, so what. Du-Oh! Edited March 9, 2012 by JamesD

kogden #68 Posted March 12, 2012 Been awaiting a release announcement for this myself. Probably going to see if Mega-Hz still has his RAM upgrade available when I have some spare cash in a couple weeks. A little tougher to install but an awesome upgrade as well. His site seems down at the moment. This upgrade looks really nice though, simple to install and less clutter and wires. Could probably run a switch to the jumper for separate ANTIC access. Unfortunately the machine I'd like to upgrade has no socketed chips so either way I'm looking at desoldering and soldering at least 40 pins. :-/

flashjazzcat #71 Posted March 16, 2014 I'll go out on a limb and venture that this has probably been completely abandoned now that Lotharek is manufacturing and selling Ultimate 1MB.
MrFish #72 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) I'll go out on a limb and venture that this has probably been completely abandoned now that Lotharek is manufacturing and selling Ultimate 1MB. I thought the same thing when I saw Lotharek was manufacturing U1MB's. But this is highly more desirable than an U1MB for me, and probably no small amount of other individuals. They're totally different beasts. I personally have no intention of ever installing a U1MB, but I'd buy several MicroRAM's at the drop of a hat. If it's dead, then so be it. But it would be nice to hear a word from Pasiu or Lotharek. I hope they're still interested in producing it. Edited March 16, 2014 by MrFish
Marius #73 Posted March 16, 2014 If you are a tiny bit skilled with a solder iron you might install Hias 512K SRAM upgrade. It's easy and good. Okay, it takes a little more time than just (almost) plug and play, but it is not a very hard job.
MrFish #74 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) If you are a tiny bit skilled with a solder iron you might install Hias 512K SRAM upgrade. It's easy and good. Okay, it takes a little more time than just (almost) plug and play, but it is not a very hard job. It has nothing to do with the skill or effort required to install any one of a handful of upgrades; I can solder/desolder anything I want to. It has everything to do with my personal perception of what a proper memory upgrade for an Atari should be like. A socket, which isn't present in most XE machines, would need to be installed for this upgrade to work. So it's not devoid of any solder-work. In my opinion sockets belong on Atari 8-bit motherboards, but point to point wiring does not. Edited March 16, 2014 by MrFish
