Is there a way to fix this?

Recommended Posts

Today when I tried to play Frogger on my four switch Atari 2600 I could not get Frogger to go forward. When I looked at the controller port one of the pin things was missing. The pin is in my atari flashback controller. Is there any way I can fix the port?

To make it even worse after posting this I got the mail and my copy of Dragonfire was in the mailbox! :(

If I read right, the pin broke off into the controller connector?

The easiest thing to do would be to rob another Atari (or buy one from someone) for its port and solder it into yours. If you're ok with soldering, you could probably get a cheap one from someone here at the marketplace.

Well I have never soldered something before. My dad said when he was a kid it happened to his atari and he just stuck like a piece of nail or something in one of the controllers. Do you know if that actually works?

That sounds a bit destructive to me. Do you want it "fixed", or FIXED?

Thank you for all the help! I'm just going to buy a new port and a guy my dad works with is going to fix it for me.

It's worth learning how to solder. I find soldering and welding both go hand in hand, the more you do it, the easier it gets! Hope you get your console fixed soon!

Yes, that does work. And it will work for a LOOOOONG time and I am being serious. My step dad did something like that for me and it worked.
