Best Electronic Quadrun "Prototype"

Recommended Posts

Well, I was on Ebay, and I saw what I thought was a Quadrun Prototype. So I sent the person an offer and it got accepted. Soon after paying, I realized that it was a Quadrun released from Best Electronics. I didn't have any knowledge of there being real prototypes and then Best Electronics prototypes, which aren't really prototypes,

when I bought it. :(

I was wondering though, what is the value of a Best Electronic Quadrun?

Here is a link to the picture of the one I bought.

It says some guy named Jerry Greiner signed it.

And if you are interested in it, send me a PM.

Probably around $50 - Atari2600.com had one for sale for not too long ago.

It's likely an authentic COB board with a pre-production ROM. So it's sort of a prototype but it's not a lab loaner. Dukes of Hazzard is the same though that game never did get released.

Yeah, the game seems complete. I know in the prototype, the color for the surrounding stays orange most of the time, or something like that, but in the one I have, it does plenty of colors.

Here are a couple close up pictures of the front of the cart.

Then on the end label of the cart, there is a sticker that says, "Quadron Atari Prototype"

They bought palettes full of Atari "stuff", very early on and started discovering things that did not exist on the market or were worth distributing.

Quite common, just shove the boards in any case that will work, and apply own label sometimes.

Jerry Greiner seemed pretty grumpy back when I dealt with him back in the 90s.... I was not too excited to do any transactions with the guy after that encounter. Maybe I just caught him on a bad day.
