SlowCoder #1 Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) I recently made some purchases at a local establishment. Before I divulge where and how much I spent, I want to see how much you guys think the hauls are worth. Haul 1 - N64 Includes: - Console with original power and RCA video cables - Original box in good condition, but without internal packing. - N64 manual - 3 controllers (2 smoke). The grey controller only has slight wiggle in the joystick, but the others are tight. = Memory card (not pictured) in nice 3-card storage box - Games: Donkey Kong 64, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 3, 1080 Snowboarding, Star Wars Racer, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Zelda Majora's Mask (Gold edition with 3D label) - Manuals for Wipeout 64, Star Wars Racer, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time - Zelda Collector's Edition strategy guide for 1st 4 games. Good condition, with obligatory adolescent boogers included. What sucks here is that my son, while attempting to help me pick up the stuff, dropped what is probably the most valuable game, Zelda Majora, on the floor, cracking it open. I think I found all the pieces, and will try to glue it all back together. I don't blame him because he was trying to help. ------------------- Haul 2 - Super Nintendo Includes: - Console (no power or video cable). Non-faded, which adds value for me. - Games: Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Mario World, Gaia -------------------- Haul 3 - Nintendo GameCube Includes: - Console with original power and video. - Console is in hardly used shape. No dust, and perfect functional condition, including eject. - Cosmetic stickers, and a Pokemon sticker on top that I will be removing (hate Pokemon) - 2 Controllers - Game: Rainbow 6 Lockdown (disc only) - Gameboy Player expansion (no disc) -------------------- Haul 4 - Atari Games and Controller Includes: - CX-40 controller, good condition - Games: Video Pinball, Super Breakout, Breakout, Ice Hockey (no ActiPlaque), Star Raiders, Video Chess, RealSports BaseBall, Space Invaders, Air-Sea Battle, Kool-Aid Man. All games are in perfect condition, and no dust. --------------------- Haul 5 - Atari Flashback (7800?) Includes: - Original box, good condition, no packing - Console with power and video cables. Perfect condition Edited September 1, 2011 by SlowCoder

No, that's the Flashback 2 you are thinking of. The one he got is the original Flashback. It uses different hardware.

SlowCoder #6 Posted September 2, 2011 Ok, no one wanted to guess what I paid ... I'LL TELL YOU ANYWAY!!! Haul 1 (N64) and Haul 2 (SNES) together cost me $9.99. Haul 3 (Wii) cost me $9.99. Found out it's apparently a "special edition" Pokemon edition. Don't know if that affects its value or not. Haul 4 (Atari games and controller) cost me $3.98. It includes Kool-Aid Man, one of the rarest games I now own. Haul 5 (Flashback) cost me $9.99. Probably the least advantageous value of all of them, but still fun nonetheless. For a total of $35, I think all this was a great bargain. The big surprise, at least for my area, is that I got it all from Goodwill. I have an "in" with the guy that checks donated merchandise at one of the stores, and he says he can't sell the stuff otherwise, so he's willing to sell it out cheap to me, and calls me when he gets it in. He's had a few Ataris come in over time, but ended up shipping them to main distribution when they didn't sell. So I'm really hoping this relationship continues. It really is all about who you know honestly, thats how you get deals and such! I think I'm going to go scouting around tomorrow morning a little bit to see if I can find some good deals as well! I'm hopeful, but you just never know what is going to show up.
fiddlepaddle #8 Posted September 3, 2011 Goodwill? Holy Smokes! Nice price for all, though I think you about paid par for a like-new flashback. The Gamecube and N64 controllers are probably worth about what your whole purchase cost. Keep suckin' on that Goodwill...
