dummy cartridge

I'm sure there is probably a thread out here on AA for "dummy cartridge" but I have a cartridge and some disks that require a dummy cartridge...can someone explain how to use a "dummy cartridge" to save or load games?

I have the 'Impersonator' disk, the dummy cart and the book that came with. I tried a couple carts and it was often not successful. I do have a few files

I put an '.IMP' extender on that I saved with Impersonator. I don't think they work reliably, the files I saved to use with the dummy cart. It was a

not so reliable system. Almost all carts have been made into binary load files, I'm sure you know. The book would take 14 scans to copy to .jpgs.

The book is hard to follow.
