SOLD: Instant Activision cart collection for A8

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of selling my Activision cartridge collection (that's all 15 cartridges and 10 of the manuals) as a single lot, and I'm curious if anyone here would be interested or if most folks are just looking to fill a hole here and there. As you can see from the pics, they're all in really good shape except for the label on H.E.R.O. If anyone is interested, feel free to drop me a line, and also feel free to post any opinions in the thread.

Thanks!

UPDATE: I also have boxes for Beamrider and Keystone Kapers.

I still have this set available. I got _some_ interest initially, but nothing panned out. Anyone jonesing for an Activision collection?

I'm definitely interested. Do you have a price in mind?

I know you asked for offers, but as someone who has gotten rid of pretty much all of my extras in the marketplace here, I can tell you that posts w/ a price get way more interest. Just my somewhat-self-interested but still probably good advice.

PS Looking for anything in (partial) trade?

No, definitely not looking for any trades. Would like to get a decent cash sale out of 'em - I'm just not sure what a fair price is for the lot. I s'pose I could turn this into a forum-based auction and let you guys tell me, but I'm not sure how people feel about that either...

Time to put a price on this. Considering what I paid to get some of them, I think $400 is a decent price for the lot. If you're interested, drop me a PM.

thanks!

Holy smokes, that'a a lot scratch for some A8 carts! Must be a couple in there worth big bucks (Pastfinder?) or perhaps the paper accompanying some of them really drive up the value. I amassed a near complete collection of Activision carts for the C64 a little while ago, but got nowhere near anything close to $400 for 'em. Seem to recall they only went for $4-$8ea., most of them.

There are a few of them in there that were pretty high dollar - yep, including Pastfinder. Based on my recollection over the past few years, I paid more in total than my asking price here.

$400 is fair price, IMO. Pastfinder alone usually fetches 3 figures.

3 Figures? Holy crud. I had three of these years ago, and I think I got each for $20 or so. Times must have changed...

I think $400 is fair too, it'd cost you more on ebay for sure.

If only I had and extra $400 lying around...

I've bought all but two of the Activision Carts in the last 18 months and I reckon by the time I've got the other two it will have cost me about $330, not including shipping costs. Selling games in a bundle like this is unlikely to make the sum of the individuals, although buying them in one bundle I guess would save quite a bit in shipping so this should be taken into account.

It will be interesting to see how much they make on ebay if they're sold as a single lot

I think there is some value in it being the whole set. I'll be curious to see if it gets listed on ebay that way.......

Only if you keep up your production of lazer lemons, then they'll be all up ons. ;)

Looking at completed eBay auctions, the price on Pastfinder has gone down a bit -- around $70 ballpark for the last auction that sold, if you split up the sale price evenly. That auction had both Pastfinder and Dreadnought Factor and went for $140; those two alone are nearly half of the $400 price if you go by the most recent as opposed to averages. I do admit that $400 is maybe a little on the high spectrum for "fair price", but it's still in the "fair" ballpark for sure. Like McKong said, $330 is about what these carts would cost individually.

I do think the lot will decrease the value somewhat, as collectors have most of those titles already. We'll see what happens!

I never did put any of this on eBay, and I'll drop it to $300+shipping if someone here still wants it. Only because I'm looking for a little quick cash this week...
