New Games release schedule Sept. to Dec. 2011

Recommended Posts

Hi there

because the budget for hobbies will suffer a lot this last quarter because of ... many problems to face, I would appreciate to know now which Colecovision games (in cart form) will be released and when by the publishers this year.

Also a price idea will be very much appreciated.

This to choose now the games, to book them to publishers and to keep in due time the money for that.

Have too many hobbies and less and less money ... and my veteran Alfa Romeo cars need any Euro drop.

Think this also helpful for all other collectors.

Thanks in advance.

( sorry for intrusion, desperately looking for any info ( magazines..) concerning the Alfa Romeo Alfa 6 saloon ( V6 2,5l. ) that was planned for release to U.S. in 1979 - 1980 and then cancelled. Car was the first to mount the superb V6 engine then better known there because installed in the GTV6 Alfetta, a good seller in the U.S.) thanks.

MAX

GTV6 Alfetta

Best car in the world , it was my daily car for 10 years. I loved that car, just sold it because in France you can not find anymore fuel with lead and it was too painfull to put additive in fuel each time.

Where Team Pixelboy is concerned, all I can tell you is that the next releases will be Circus Charlie, Star Force, Golgo 13, Ninja Princess, Konami's Ping-Pong and Bank Panic.

I'm not exactly sure yet how much each game will cost, but I do know that they will be a little more expensive than the last batch, for various reasons liked to production expenses. I've been working to keep these production expenses down as much as possible, but you can still expect something like 40/45$US per game.

I'm aiming for a December 25th 2011 release date, but things are progressing very slowly this month (some collaborators aren't replying to me right now) and at this point, I can't even guarantee that I'll meet this deadline.

That's all I can tell you.

I translated the SG-1000 versions of Chack'n Pop and Ninja Princess into English. Out of curiosity, are the upcoming releases of these games based on my work, or were they independently translated to replace the Japanese text in the game?

The Ninja Princess translation is weedy at best (though at least it translates the key hints) since I don't have the skills to edit the ASM to change the text display direction. But I was rather proud of the job I did on Chack'n Pop, replacing the Japanese instructions with the English-language ones from the arcade game.

If I knew you had translated Chack n Pop, I would ask you if I could use it

PCBs are already done now.... :|

Oh, man. A pity I didn't ask about this sooner -- I saw a note on your site about Chack'n Pop a little while ago (maybe a week?) and meant to ask. I did post about my translation here but I guess you didn't see it.

The good news is it's only the one screen, really, plus a couple of grammar fixes. You can see screenshots here and here.

I handled the translation of Ninja Princess myself, and gave Eduardo Mello the texts which he integrated into the ROM, so my translated port is definately not based on your translation hack.

While I'd be honored if you had based your work on mine, I'm quite sure it's for the best that you didn't. :) When the time is right I'd love to see screenshots of the translated screens. My title screen was passable, but the others were messy. How did you translate the castle name? When I asked my Japanese neighbors they were a bit stumped, since as far as they could tell the name of the castle was "Agar", like the gelatinous food substance (they even pulled out a bag to show me!).

I redid the title screen from scratch, with a brand new title logo. As for the other translated screens, buy the game if you want to see them. ;)

Can you post or message me the screen shots in question? I am pretty good at Katakana , hiragana and know 400+ kanji. Not to mention i have several japanese to english dictonaries if you need translation help i might be able to help to some degree?!

Thanks Russ, but the whole translation thing is done, I'm happy with the result, and now I'm just waiting for Eduardo to fix one small sprite-related bug in the ROM, so that Ninja Princess can finally reach release-candidate status.

There are several kanji to the right of the overworld map, which according to my Japanese neighbors spell out something like "the map to get to Castle Agar". Here's my very crude translation, vs. the original.

Oh, that... Me and Eduardo agreed not to translate it. It gives the game a japanese feel. :)

Looking at the screenshots of the translation, I think PixelBoy and Eduardo made the right call... no disrespect to your hard work "thegoldenband". However, it would be nice to have translations on a reference sheet or in the manual for any Japanese text in the game.

No, I completely agree -- my Ninja Princess translation is an ugly hack, in part because of my non-knowledge of ASM. (Chack'n Pop, OTOH, I think came out quite well.)

The only thing is that there's an in-game clue, given in Japanese, that you need in order to access the final stage and finish the game. Without doing what that clue tells you to do, the game will just loop forever. I assume Pixelboy and Eduardo translated the clue, or at least put a hint in the manual -- the main purpose of my hack was to translate that text.

The completion conditions for the game are already obscure enough, even if you do have the clue translated. I've never seen the Japanese-language manual and wouldn't be able to read it if I did, but there's at least one other weird thing you have to do in order to beat the game. It's completely non-obvious, which makes me wonder whether it's referenced in the original SG-1000 manual. Pixelboy, do you spell this stuff out in your planned manual?
