cimerians #1 Posted January 6, 2003 I used to love this system. Anyone kind enough to list their favorites? It would be cool to read. Mine are: Venture Wargames Cosmic Avenger Miner 2049er Lady Bug B.C.'s Quest for Tires Tarzan 2010 Antarctic Adventure Smurf Rescue I like a lot more games on this system but I think I like the above the best. (I used to play Wargames to death!)
Ze_ro #2 Posted January 6, 2003 Only 10? Well, lets see... Buck Rogers, Gorf, BC's Quest For Tires, Pepper II, Ladybug, Donkey Kong Jr, Frogger, Cabbage Patch Kids (sigh...), WarGames, and Venture --Zero
Bivotar #3 Posted January 6, 2003 The good ol' Colecovision. Here are 10 I consistently go back to playing: Mr. Do! Wargames Donkey Kong Jr. Carnival Pepper II Mousetrap Beamrider Popeye Frogger Gateway to Apshai There's a couple others that are fun, every once in awhile, like 2010 (pretty hectic when you get the hang of it). Even Cabbage Patch Kids: Adv. in the Park is a hoot. Lots of variety on the old CV.
Inky #4 Posted January 6, 2003 Top 10, eh? 1) War Games 2) Fortune Builder 3) Q*Bert 4) Congo Bongo 5) Tapper 6) Pepper II 7) Frenzy Frogger 9) Mouse Trap 10) Popeye
joeybastard #5 Posted January 6, 2003 The CV is in my top 3 favorite systems. I think I like just about every game (Even Cosmic Avenger although it's tough to like it) but here's my top ten in no particular order: HERO Jumpman JR Frontline Wargames (play 2 player using the roller controller and a stick keypad to pick the weapon - amazing!) Destructor Nova Blast Squish 'Em Sam Mr. Do Rocky Battles the Champ Venture Runners up: Pepper II, Temple of Asphsi(sp?), 2010, Slither, oh hell all of them! +opcode #6 Posted January 6, 2003 The CV is my favorite system too (together the VCS). I really like both machines. Ok, here is my top ten list: - Venture - Lady Bug - Frogger - Galaxian - Antarctic Adventure - Smurf Rescue - Space Fury - Zaxxon (it was a blast when it came out!) - Moon Patrol (the Atarisoft prototype) By the way, I love every Atarisoft game... Even the unfinished prototytes are great! - and Space Invaders Collection Really! I have never played a CV game this much!
joeybastard #7 Posted January 6, 2003 Ooooh I forgot Beamrider and Space Panic! 2 of my favs
Ze_ro #8 Posted January 7, 2003 Wow, I'm surprised to see how many people included WarGames... I thought I was just weird (especially since I don't like Missile Command nearly as much). The sad thing is that I didn't even know you could use the Roller Controller with it until about a year ago... and I had that damn thing since I was 5. --Zero
Witchfynde #9 Posted January 7, 2003 Heh, even *I'm* putting up my top 10, and I never even had a CV!! But a friend of mine did, and I liked the games a lot: Venture Wargames--a bit more to control than Missile Command, or Missile Command, the next level! Cosmic Avenger Miner 2049er--one of THE greatest platformers of all time. Lady Bug, even though the controls sucked Zaxxon--even though they included the Mobots, which at first I thought they shouldn't have screwed with a classic, but they were cool! Space Panic Looping--these last two got me to appreciate them more, since they seemed too fast in the arcades. Donkey Kong--great adaption! Time Pilot
cimerians #10 Posted January 7, 2003 Is it me or did the Colecovision versions of these games were more fun or just as fun as the original arcade game? (Space Panic, Frogger, Gorf, Burger Time etc....)
JagMX #11 Posted January 7, 2003 Miner 2049ner is the shit Q*bert Frogger Popeye Donkey Kong

Bivotar #13 Posted January 7, 2003 Wow, I'm surprised to see how many people included WarGames... I thought I was just weird (especially since I don't like Missile Command nearly as much). The sad thing is that I didn't even know you could use the Roller Controller with it until about a year ago... and I had that damn thing since I was 5. --Zero SAY WHAT?!?!?! I can't wait to get home tonight to try this! I had the game since it originally came out too, but only got the roller controller about 2 years ago. But it never occurred to me to try it. WOW! Thanks for the tip.
joeybastard #14 Posted January 7, 2003 If you read the manual for Wargames it mentions using the roller for a 2 player game with one person controlling the cursor with the tracball and one picking the weapons/regions on the keypad. I just worked both myself Oh yeah and JagHammer is right - Miner 2049er on the CV is totally kick ass - It's my favorite version.
Ze_ro #15 Posted January 8, 2003 Ugh... I absolutely hated Space Panic... although it was probably because I really sucked at that game, and got really frustrated every time I played it. Music was good if I remember correctly. --Zero
Witchfynde #16 Posted January 8, 2003 Is it me or did the Colecovision versions of these games were more fun or just as fun as the original arcade game? I think it was because they slowed down the gameplay for several games is what did it: I got more into the arcade game Looping because it was too fast, but I got more into it when I had time so sit down with it on the CV. Space Panic was also slowed down a bit, but I hadn't seen the arcade game until after I played the home version, it was all new (and good) to me! dougy76 #17 Posted January 8, 2003 Does anyone like Cabbage Patch Kids: Adventures in the Park? I loved that game as a kid, and still think it's rules. It's basically a Pitfall concept except that you are controlling a Cabbage Patch Doll. If you can get past the fact that you are controlling a little red-headed Cabbage Patch Doll, the game is pretty cool. Other Colecovision favorites of mine: Oil's Well (awesome game!) Beamrider (best port in IMHO) Ladybug Tutankham Smurf Keystone Kapers Rootbeer Tapper Frenzy Omega Race PS: First post. Hope I'm not getting off to a bad start with my endorsement of Cabbage Patch Kids.
joeybastard #18 Posted January 9, 2003 PS: First post. Hope I'm not getting off to a bad start with my endorsement of Cabbage Patch Kids. Not at all! CPK is actually a pretty good Pitfall derivative. And I agree about Oil's Well - it does indeed kick ass.
Numan #19 Posted January 10, 2003 Beamrider CPK Gateway to Apshai Wing War
dougy76 #20 Posted January 10, 2003 CPK More people coming out about CPK!!
Inky #21 Posted January 10, 2003 CPK is good, but I prefer the proto that was making its rounds on the ADAM The ADAM had some great games...
