Pixelboy #27 Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks for all the input guys! I am very interested in the Donkey Kong Arcade that is almost finished, as well as the Pac-Man collection Seing as Eduardo is currently working on Moon Cresta for a 2012 release, I'd say you shouldn't expect Donkey Kong Arcade to see a release anytime soon. The problem is not so much DKA itself, but the Super Game Module that DKA requires. He hasn't frozen the design of it yet.

Thanks for the heads up, I read the thread on the game and got super excited, but also had a feeling it wouldnt be ready for a while Whats the deal with the Super Game Module? Im not sure what that is?
Pixelboy #29 Posted September 20, 2011 Whats the deal with the Super Game Module? Im not sure what that is? It's a module that plugs in front of the CV (like the Atari 2600 module) and adds 16K to 32K of extra RAM (DKA requires 4K and a vanilla CV only has 1K of RAM) as well as an auxiliary sound chip (the design of that is not finalized) and a parallel port for plugging special components (such as a proposed adaptor that would make Opcode's Arkanoid compatible with Atari 2600 paddle controllers). Building the final prototype, and having a custom plastic casing manufactured for it are the two major hurdles that are holding back the SGM project, and by consequence, all the SGM-compatible games that Opcode could release, such as DKA, Goonies, Knightmare, King's Valley, Arkanoid, etc. Now this is just my personal opinion, but I think Eduardo should just go with the SGM model he finalized last year, with the MSX PSG sound chip. It's not the best solution in terms of sound possibilities, but with the MSX PSG, Eduardo could release most of the games on his to-do list anyway, and I think that's the important thing. It's not like people here will complain if the music doesn't sound like it came from a next-gen system, this is the CV we're talking about here. But again, that's just my personal opinion.

It is great because there are games out there on the internet that you can not get in cart form. Yes most of them are demo or just small games but they are still colecovision games. Also when my nova blast didn't work last year I was able to quickly download it from the internet and still be able to play it for the high scorers club so it saved my neck as well.
AlvinKarpis #36 Posted September 26, 2011 Today is CV and INTV delivery day
AlvinKarpis #38 Posted September 26, 2011 Well this is my setup for now, its in the corner of my home office I have all my controllers and adapters along with my SNES, N64 and Sega Genisis all in the dresser and I keep those consoles games in the plastic storage container that my 2600 sits on I took a pic looking down so you could see my set up I keep the power strip behind the 2600 (it looks close to the 2600 but its got some nice breathing room) so I can swap out AC adapters with ease My kids play the NES the most by far so I keep that hooked up to the TV and then hook up the other consoles through the NES adapter I was suprised that the CV and the INTV games came in crystal clear even being hooked up through the NES I wish I had shelfs to display the consoles and have them all hooked up (or all easy to hook up) But this is what I have to work with, just wait until you see the picture of the one shelf on our huge bookcase that I get to use for games! AlvinKarpis #39 Posted September 26, 2011 So I hate having to stack games in front of other games I have a lot of games in my dresser under the TV I hate only being able to use one shelf but my wife and I are lifelong readers and we own over 2000 books So here is my pathetic game shelf
NIAD #40 Posted September 27, 2011 NIAD has some nice stuff for sale in the marketplace... and so do I for that matter. (Shameless plug) lol Indeed you do and thanks for the plug. Even though I now have CIBs of the loose games I got for sale, I still shed a tear as each one gets packaged up for delivery to a new home... they're like my little babies. NIAD #41 Posted September 27, 2011 Congrats on the arrival of BOTH systems and great to see them setup in all their glory! Like the rest of us, we all have our struggles to find room for everything and to display it in a manner that does it justice. I've found that if I take small bites of space in increments spread out over time... my wife doesn't notice until it's too late.
jblenkle #42 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Man, when I first saw that picture I thought I was looking at my game shelf...very similar in setup, but with ColecoVision, SNES, 2600 and Sega Genesis games. The rest of my games (NES) are in another hutch and in the closet on a 4 shelf bookcase (Sega CD, PlayStation 1 & 2, 3DO, Saturn, Xbox, N64, Gamecube, and Dreamcast). I'm lucky enough to have our third bedroom as a computer and video game room (and potential fire hazard) So I hate having to stack games in front of other games I have a lot of games in my dresser under the TV I hate only being able to use one shelf but my wife and I are lifelong readers and we own over 2000 books So here is my pathetic game shelf Edited September 27, 2011 by jblenkle

AlvinKarpis #44 Posted September 27, 2011 Trust me there are some of my wifes books I wouldnt mind burning I told her that I might need another shelf next month (for the CV and INTV games that im going to buy from AA members ) I forgot to add that the CV is in beautiful condition, no scratches on the front smooth silver plate, the system is perfect! The INTV is in great shape as well, it has some scratches and a small dent in the gold name plates on top, but nothing to serious, both systems look great! And more importantly they both work great! The CV is just how I remembered it, I played some Donkey Kong and Pepper 2 and was having a blast! Pepper 2 is awesome! The INTV I was very curious so I spent more time with it (already knowing that the CV was awesome) My older daughters favorite 2600 game is Frog and Flies and every day after school and homework she challanges me to a game So of course we had to fire up Frog Bog first, it was hard getting used to the controls and after scoring at will my daughter started making small jumps right off the lilly pad into the water! Around this same time my side button started acting weird and I couldnt get my tongue to work! So I threw in Burgertime and everything worked fine I played through all the games and the one I liked the most was Bomb Squad! After messing up and choosing the wrong part like 5 times in a row I started getting it right I ordered B-17 Bomber off Ebay and should have that game soon and im looking forward to that game Overall I like the INTV but its got a different feel then both the 2600 and the CV It seems to me that the INTV system works great for the games like Bomb Squad where you dont need to tap the side buttons like in a shooter type game I like those games as well so the INTV looks like a winner as well
