I killed my heavy Sixer :-(

Ern when you attached the replacement shielding did you do it so that the placement is the same as it was originally? What I mean is putting the tabs back through and making sure that they were not making contact with any of the board's circuit pathways, because much like with some computer motherboards some require foam washers to prevent grounding out and some don't.

 

I discovered this by doing a motherboard upgrade on a friend's computer, I put the new board in and connected everything and got a high pitched whine but no display and zero power flow then took it to a computer tech and he put foam washers under the screws preventing the screws from grounding out the motherboard and voila! Problem solved so double check everything carefully and if need be loo up an image of the shielding placement/tab positioning etc. And also make sure the tabs are not laying flat either as this could create a problem as well
