A_Locomotive #1 Posted October 3, 2011 What would it be? A while back I remembered hearing word that there might be a new Mega Man Legends game coming out and I was ecstatic! Only to be crushed a few days later when I read it had been canned. So anyway if you could choose to bring back one video game series from the dead what would it be? I'm guessing this would be almost impossible for most of use to choose a single series so feel free to chose 2 or 3 if need be, just order them in which you'd most like to see brought back. For me its a very close tie between two series, the first the aforementioned Mega Man Legends, I adore the 2 games that got made and have replayed both multiple times(in fact doing a speed run a few months ago on the first game). The second is the Oddworld franchise, every now and then word is its coming back and then nothing is heard of it again and then it repeats. I LOVE the world of Oddworld, the story, characters, the environments, the creatures, everything! Its just so much fun and so creative its hard not to love it, as much as I love Mega Man Legends though I think I'd give the edge to Oddworld just for the simple fact that there is so much more room for it to grow and expand upon its world. Rex Dart #2 Posted October 3, 2011 You mention playing the "2 games that got made"; have you played Misadventures of Tron Bonne? MML is also a series I'd like to see continued, along with Bushido Blade and Little Nemo: Dream Master. I always wanted a SNES follow-up to that sucker. And if they could get Ancient involved in a new Streets of Rage, I'd be all over that.
A_Locomotive #3 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) You mention playing the "2 games that got made"; have you played Misadventures of Tron Bonne? No, I've never been able to justify its price the few times I've seen it for sale so I tend to ignore it. Always wanted to try it though. Rex Dart #4 Posted October 3, 2011 Well try it. It's not like any money's going to Capcom, or that they deserve any.
A_Locomotive #5 Posted October 3, 2011 Well try it. It's not like any money's going to Capcom, or that they deserve any. Its not were the money is going thats the issue, its that its so expensive when I see it for sale which is why I can't justify it to myself, if I ever come across for a price I consider reasonable believe me I will be buying it in a heart beat. A_Locomotive #7 Posted October 3, 2011 Ah... you're talking about collecting, I'm talking about playing. Aww I see lol, I've never really looked into figuring out how to do that. Never had much luck the few times I've tried figureing out emulation, maybe its time to give it another go soon.
Austin #8 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Panzer Dragoon. And not even a RPG follow-up in the vein of Saga. A sequel or a new entry in line with Orta would be perfectly fine with me. Turrican. Mega Turrican-style, preferrably. 7th Guest/11th Hour. A mind-teazer point 'n click horror game like either of these would be refreshing today, especially if they upped the scare value. While the puzzles in the originals are still good, the acting is pretty antiquated by today's standards. A new one would be nice.. Hatta #9 Posted October 3, 2011 Quest for Glory! They left the door open for a sixth game in Wolfie's homeland of Inja. We were really, really lucky to get the 5th game anyway, so I'm not too disheartened that it's not going to happen.
+wood_jl #10 Posted October 4, 2011 I'd like a 21st-century update to "Front Line" by Tatio. 1st-person, but WAY MORE ARCADE and fast-paced than today's 1st-person shooters. Tank stages would be a lot of fun. Chances are they'd mess this up if they tried, but it would be cool.

vrocko #12 Posted October 4, 2011 I wish they would bring back the Colony Wars series from the Playstation 1. I really enjoyed that game and the others in the series. I would like to see that one come back.

jaybird3rd #14 Posted October 4, 2011 Blaster Master. I didn't care for the changes that were made in the later entries in the series, so it would be nice to see a sequel which revives the play mechanics of the NES original: larger and harder levels, better graphics, but the exact same gameplay.

For me, the series that I would like to see continued is Metroid, but in 2D format. I had enough 3D with the Primes, Hunters and Other M. I want to see a remake of Metroid II, or a new sequel in 2D. disjaukifa #19 Posted October 4, 2011 For me Berzerk! I would love to see a blocky 3d version of the game done in an overhead 3rd person perspective.
A_Locomotive #20 Posted October 4, 2011 Sounds to me like what you really want is Cabal: I love that the guy in that game is taking on tank with a machine gun and winning.

Reaperman #22 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Wing Commander: Privateer. A little bit of wing commander, plus a little bit of elite, produces something better than both. Master Of Orion. We forgive you for MOO 3--it's time for another go. X-com, except, really brought back. Edited October 4, 2011 by Reaperman
OldSchoolRetroGamer #23 Posted October 4, 2011 I have said it before and apparently EA started a while back then scrapped it and NO the PSP compilation does not count. On modern systems I would love to see an update: ROAD RASH
GKC #24 Posted October 4, 2011 My only problem is that I've fallen so out of touch with modern gaming that I don't know what series' have or haven't been continued. With that being said I'd like to see the modern take on Ghouls n Ghosts. Oh and that Mario character continued too. Maybe a game that takes place in a galaxy setting.........
