qix_maniac
I had 2 parker brother cartridges I could not get to work after using various cleaning methods on the cartridge contacts (usually alcohol isopropyl 70% does the trick)... I tried ultra thin black sand paper on both sides of the contacts and to my surprise the cartridges work perfectly now!!! Am I the first to try this? just figured I share
jmetal88
Nah, I've done it before. Not on Atari carts, but on other things.
Bryan
Some sort of metal polish on a q-tip is probably best. The goal is to remove a layer of oxidized metal while doing minimal damage to the contacts.
+orpheuswaking
I find a pencil eraser works great... I've only had one cart that I couldn't resurect that way.
Fox-1 / mnx
I use a fibreglass pen for that. Something like this: http://www.darkplanets.co.uk/product_info.asp?pid=

Am I the first to try this? just figured I share I'm glad it worked for you, but that's a really destructive way to solve the problem. I've never needed to use anything more abrasive than a paper-towel. I like Break Free CLP for cleaning contacts, it is a light oil with a waxy substance in it that prevents future corrosion. A few wipes and you're back in business. cheers, c
