José Pereira #1 Posted October 6, 2011 Even that he left Atari (Atari employer nº44) and create Apple and turning to the 'dark side' it's still a great lost. What could Atari have been if stayed at Atari with Nolan Bushnell? R.I.P. Steve.
hitchcock4 #2 Posted October 6, 2011 Even that he left Atari (Atari employer nº44) and create Apple and turning to the 'dark side' it's still a great lost. What could Atari have been if stayed at Atari with Nolan Bushnell? Saw this too. He was a great pioneer, and even though I do not own Apple products, he was a visionary -- and lucky. +rdemming #5 Posted October 6, 2011 Turning to the 'dark side' it's still a great lost. Darkside?, I didn't knew he worked for Commodore? Although I'm not a fan of the current Apple, he certainly will be missed. Robert
flashjazzcat #6 Posted October 6, 2011 MrFish and I have really immersed ourselves in the very early Apple innovations this year, and - regardless of Xerox PARC - Steve Jobs was indeed a true visionary. Part of the pioneering age of computing has died.
Mclaneinc #7 Posted October 6, 2011 The world needs the clever people, its sad to see one of the top ones go so early, I'm not going to pretend I know all about him and pour what would be false praise on him, he was excellent at what he did and was very well rewarded for his hard work and creations. The sad part is that he should have been enjoying his later life in peace and quiet with his wife and children instead of losing his life at such a young age, all that money and it could not save him, there's a lesson in that for every one. UNIXcoffee928 #13 Posted October 7, 2011 This is my favorite image of Steve Jobs. I first remember seeing it in the book, "The Journey is the Reward", which I had considered to be an inspirational read, at the time. Steve Wozniak had mentioned the possibility of returning to Apple, back in March of this year. I really hope that he decides to do it.

oky2000 #15 Posted October 8, 2011 Leaving in spirit and having no control let him find his passion for creating another revolutionary OS and machine with NEXT. To be honest NEXTSTEP 3.0...3.3 is SUPERIOR to our so called business Windows 2008/ Windows 7 setup at work 15 years later, and it is alarming just how sophisticated it is even compared to OS X. It sowed the seeds for OS X on his return as CEO to Apple. I sometimes wonder what he could have done had he bumped into Jay Miner and co in 1982.....imagine Amiga 1000 chipset and Apple marketing. That Windows shit from Microsoft would have been fucked and we would probably still have Atari and Commodore and Acorn selling lovely incompatible alternative choices next to Apple Mac and X86 PC (probably running GEM) or even better NEXTSTEP on Amiga 1200/4000 machines in 1993-1994 had Apple bought Amiga Computers.
