IntellivisionGuy97 #1 Posted October 9, 2011 So apparently, some guy named The Shadow hacked the Intellivision, and there are a bunch of violent war photos and a bunch of text in a different language. I hope it gets fixed soon, it's really wierd. http://www.intellivisionlives.com/
+Allan #2 Posted October 9, 2011 Why? Anybody who is into Intellivision is not going to be able to read the site. How stupid. Allan
OldSchoolRetroGamer #3 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Yeah I left a message on "The Shadows" linked facebook page basically told him where to go, I don't expect a response, at least one I can read if the Facebook page is anything to go by. Of all the sites to hack to spread propaganda........... Edited October 9, 2011 by OldSchoolRetroGamer
jaybird3rd #4 Posted October 9, 2011 That sucks. Unfortunately, given that the Intellivision site has been half-broken ever since last year's "upgrade", with no evidence that anyone is even trying to fix it, it will probably take them forever to bring it back online. EDIT: According to a post on their Facebook page, they're aware of it and are restoring the site from backups.
Itchy Koala #5 Posted October 9, 2011 I don't want to jinx anything but are we the only ones left still standing? I know digital press and a few other retro video game related sites got hacked a while back too..
IntellivisionGuy97 #6 Posted October 10, 2011 I'm glad that this website is here. It's a place with many Intellivision fans that you can talk with and exhange info and do fun stuff.
Rev #7 Posted October 10, 2011 The Intellivision web site has been hacked and is momentarily offline. We will have it restored from our backup files shortly! (Those guys at ColecoVision never give up!) LOL, they blamed it on Coleco!

cparsley #9 Posted October 10, 2011 Thats probably about the best thing to do, blame it on an early 80s competitor instead of the moron who did it
jaybird3rd #10 Posted October 10, 2011 They need to upgrade their web server while they're at it; the version of Apache they're running (1.3.42) is ancient. That probably has something to do with why they were hacked in the first place.
+thegoldenband #11 Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) It'd be nice if the new web server also allowed them to fulfill orders in a timely manner. I placed an order during their "fire sale" and it's been pending for over seven months, with no replies to emails or Facebook messages. SoulBlazer #12 Posted October 10, 2011 The site is partily back up. I say partly cause many links don't work.

It was really fun to order Intellivision Lives DS, and then have to walk into Wal-Mart and see it on the shelves for almost 2 months before they finally got around to sending me mine. Rev #14 Posted October 13, 2011 Actually this hack is the first exciting thing to happen to intellivisionlives.com all year!
vprette #15 Posted October 13, 2011 a little off topic.... but I really keep thinking about the 2 unreleased games illusions and pool they told will be released in cartridge years ago...
jaybird3rd #16 Posted October 13, 2011 a little off topic.... but I really keep thinking about the 2 unreleased games illusions and pool they told will be released in cartridge years ago... ... and the limited-edition reproductions of rare games like Spiker! and Stadium Mud Buggies ... and the new version of Intellivision Lives! for the PC which integrates the first-party games from the Intellivision Rocks! collection and adds better support for modern operating systems ... and the new Intellivision games from the Blue Sky Rangers (I heard in an interview that Dave Akers wrote one, and that others among the original programmers were thinking about writing some as well) ... and a bunch of other potential projects which have been talked about for years but have never come to fruition. Perhaps the DS collection didn't do as well as they hoped it would, making other projects impossible, or perhaps they're simply busy with other ventures. (I don't mean to come across as excessively demanding here, by the way. I recognize that Intellivision Productions is a business and that they don't have a duty to give anybody anything, with the obvious exception of those people who are still waiting for merchandise they ordered. I'm merely frustrated with the apparent lack of momentum, because I love the Intellivision and I think there are many exciting opportunities which are apparently not being explored. If nothing else, it would be great to see the old game trivia and other historical information again; there was some really good stuff in the "History" section of the Intellivision Productions website before the "upgrade", and I'd love to have it back.) Akers was developing for vcs2600 right? any idea where we can catch info about this interview? Edited October 13, 2011 by vprette

Akers was developing for vcs2600 right?any idea where we can catch info about this interview? Keith Robinson mentioned it in passing during one of his more recent interviews. I'll have to dig around in my files to see if I can find it; it was in MP3 format, and I don't think there are any transcripts out there.

Productions lineup? those are not real intv games but only "ispired" to the graphic of the original console... otherwise.. maybe the "community" I refer to, made by intv collectors that write in the newsgroup.. are not at all the target of interest of those people.... something is not clear Edited October 13, 2011 by vprette
cparsley #20 Posted October 13, 2011 I wonder, if the BSR's dont have the drive to keep the INTV going, we can definitely get a group of us together with the drive to run it for them.. (just a thought)

It's possible to stil access the history stuff. I can't give you the exact procedure now, cause I'm at work, but there's still some links to it, and then you go into the source directory and access the files that way. The HTML pages are still up, just you have to use the 'back door' to access them.

IntellivisionDude #23 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) http://www.intellivi....com/site.shtml It looks like they have updated the backdoor site as well. Seems all that is missing is linking it properly to the main site. This is strange, using this link for the main site everything works, even the history and support links. Just don't click "Home" talk about a$$ backwards. http://www.intellivi...com/media.shtml Edited October 13, 2011 by IntellivisionDude

cparsley #25 Posted October 13, 2011 When was the last time someone tried, and how was the approach done (in a positive or negative light for the BSR)?
