marcfrick2112 #1 Posted October 14, 2011 Hey everyone, I suddenly got a huge 'retro urge'... and I fondly remember the cheap (but often pretty good) Mastertronic games... Anyway, I am SURE I used to have way more 'good' games by them... but moving + 20 years.. things get misplaced... Certainly, some games had great music. ('Master of Magic' comes to mind... by the almighty Rob Hubbard..) *oh... sheepishly... does anyone have a scan of the Prowler manual?* Anyway, here's a few I enjoy: Action Biker Ninja SWAT (well, it's OK) Master of Magic Prowler So, let's here your favorites! Or, am I just weird... lol
BydoEmpire #2 Posted October 15, 2011 I was a huge fan of Mastertronic's c64 stuff. They were budget games, but they were usually really, really good. Even if every game on the disk wasn't great, you were pretty much guaranteed one gem on there. I was never disappointed, anyways. So without further ado... Kane is one of my favorite c64 games of all times. Odd, since generally I have no interest in Westerns.

+orpheuswaking #4 Posted October 17, 2011 Not a C64 user, but I have all of the Atari 8bit Mastertronic titles on Cassette. Looking at the release list the C64 got a lot more games. Some interesting history on the company here http://www.guter.org/mastertronic.htm

FABombjoy #8 Posted October 26, 2011 I really liked Captain Zzap / Zapp / Flash Gordon as a kid. A bit easy once you've gone through it once or twice. I still fire up the SID tunes from it now and again.
cimerians #9 Posted October 27, 2011 Ninja Action Biker Kikstart Knight Games Ninja was great even if he bounced around kinda goofy.
Pengwin #10 Posted October 27, 2011 Never a C64 user, but I have great memories of some Mastertronic games. My favs are probably (in no particular order): Ninja One Man and His Droid Spellbound Universal Hero (even better now you can get the 'fixed' version)

My real faves are: Ninja Gaplus Speed King Panther Kikstart I + II I think 'Knight Games' + II were Mastertronic? Knight Games I + II are from English Software. high voltage #12 Posted October 29, 2011 (edited) A8 versions were available on disk in US as well. Whilst in the UK C64 + Spectrum received many more Mastertronic games, they've gotten more trash too. I think A8 has the best balance of 'good' Mastertronic games. I like Kickstart, Henry's House (funnily one of the best UK written games too), Knight Tyme series, Universal Hero, Colony, Molecule Man, Chimera and Power Down Edited October 29, 2011 by high voltage
