SRGilbert #1 Posted October 18, 2011 I won't go into all the details here, you can read about the rest of my crazy-ass flea market score in the thrift finds thread here: http://www.atariage....ost__p__2390191 The highlight for my (among an amazing lot already) was this 100% complete in box copy of Rescue Terra I, my first R9 and it's in amazing shape to boot! The other astounding thing about this lot was the fact that including the Starpath games, I was able to add 13 new titles to my collection at once, and this was after hovering just under 300 titles for what seems like a year! I had set a goal that I would like to hit 300 before the end of the year without going the Ebay route or spending retrogame store prices. It was starting to look like I wasn't going to make it, but wham, out of nowhere I blow past it. This must be what crack is like......

SRGilbert #7 Posted October 18, 2011 Congratulations on this amazing find! Out of curiosity, what did you get the lot for? I got the lot for $70! If you haven't read the post I linked to, you should, there was a TON of great stuff in there, Rescue Terra was just the best part. I haven't been at this as long as some guys (I guess about 4 years of serious scrounge collecting) but I've managed to get some good stuff just at yard sales and flea markets. I try (if I can) to stick to collecting that way vs Ebay or game stores. It makes the hunt more fun for me, and also keeps my costs down.
SRGilbert #8 Posted October 19, 2011 Oh, as an update, I can bump that number of new games from 13 to 14! Did a closer run through them and found another. Also, if that weren't enough, I went back through my collection and was able to swap out 62 carts for the MUCH improved labels in this lot, especially the Activision and Data Age labels. SRGilbert #12 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm jealous! I spent more on my loose copy. Congrats! Thanks, but I'm not sure you understand.... I paid $70 for the LOT of over 90 games (that also included some great sealed games and Supercharger games) , so really I only paid like $.75 for Rescue Terra!

Lord Thag #14 Posted October 29, 2011 Not only did you get an R9, you got (in my opinion) the BEST R9. Rescue Terra I is one of my favorite shooters on the system. Outstanding, challenging game with tons of variety. The sequel, Lazer Gates (Venturevision sold the rights to Imagic when it closed it's doors) is also good. Hell of a find there!
