Back in the game again

Recommended Posts

Though I've been hanging around the 8-bit section at AA more lately, it was becuase I was rebuilding my 1200XL (Which was sold, then returned broken, but never mind now). Of course my 1200 was upgraded in many ways, so it took me a while even though I started fresh with a new MOBO. But I'm now back to where I was, almost, I'm down from 512K to 256K, but I just need a new LS chip. I'm listening to Zybex, the stereo version right now, using SIO2PC with APE Warp+ OS, Stereo dual Pokey, Rambo XL 256K, Clearpic2002, Antic PAL 1200XL. It's good to be back.

My next steps are to get rid of the Rectifirer and huge heat sink and do that 5V power mod, then I'm going to retro-fit my SIO2PC and 1050-2-PC external box to internal on my 1200, maybe do the parallel Buss mod someday...

The next step though now is to get the original 1200 mobo working again out of two broken ones for another working 1200, and I also have a 600XL and 800XL lined up for repairs.

But now I get to enjoy the fruits of my labors again while laboring. In the end I guess it's a good thing, becuase I was selling it off and now I'm holding onto my 1200XL. I sell all the others.

Definately want one, but can't afford one right now, and when I can I fear they won't be available any more.

Honestly though, how is everyone fitting all these boards that plug into the mobo sockets under their keyboards?!? I have to use a ribbon cable with my Gumby stereo board (ala MetalGuy66), becuase it sits too high plugged directly into the Pokey socket for the keyboard to fit in place, not to mention my Warp OS board in the way and barely fitting under the keyboard itself! At least the Rambo XL board sits further back out of the keyboards way.
