A_Locomotive #1 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) So I came home from work today to find I had received a package from Russia. Knowing immediately what it was I opened it up, took the CD case out, unwrapped it and popped it into my computer to enjoy the electro western magic that is the soundtrack to Strangers Wrath. One of my all time favorite Xbox games and easily the one with the best soundtrack as far as I'm concerned. When I found out a few weeks ago that an official soundtrack was actually released for the game a few years ago(sadly in a pretty small print) I set about tracking it down. So I ask you my fellow AAers, let us know what your favorite video game soundtracks are. Even though this thread is in the classic section don't feel limited to only older stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJimIkqMIA Edited October 25, 2011 by A_Locomotive

Brawl (Wii) - awesome compilation of various songs Starcraft (PC) Shadow of the Beast (Amiga)
A_Locomotive #9 Posted October 25, 2011 SNES - Donkey Kong Country SNES - Secret of Mana I love both those games and their music, especially Mana. That game had music that for me was so memorable that I actually remembered a lot of the music from when I'd first played it with my friend when I was about 7 or 8 to when I actually got the game when I was 22. Donkey Kong Countries music I've likey heard more then any other game since my brother and I have played it so much together, I can remember the various music from every single area. Feel free to post some clips if you can guys, I'd love to hear the tracks you found most memorable. A few more of mine are all from the star fox series. I've been a huge fan of the series, even loving the much maligned Adventures and Assault. The best though will always be the original's soundtrack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wno4FqrT1g8 The stand out track from Star Fox 64 will always be Aquas. I love all the songs though, I've got the entire games soundtrack on CD, got from Nintendo Power back when they used to give out cool shift for joining. SEgamer #12 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) A few more of mine are all from the star fox series. I've been a huge fan of the series, even loving the much maligned Adventures and Assault. The best though will always be the original's soundtrack. I forgot to put it on my list, but Starfox Assault almost rivals the SNES version to me. I guess I'm a fan of orchestrated versions of songs, though nothing will beat the sounds of orignal 8 or 16 bit games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL9wpF5xx9s&feature=related Another game with good music is Commando. I really like the remix done by Instant Remedy as well as the rest of the remixes he does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM2IXgPlKuI&feature=related Edited October 26, 2011 by SEgamer
Rex Dart #13 Posted October 26, 2011 Halo anyone? I thought part 2's soundtrack was excellent, yeah. Can't recall anything from the first game apart from the title theme though.
RodLightning #14 Posted October 27, 2011 I like the music from Jaguar Tempest 2000 Quake 2 (PC) also has good music. Venturing into the coin-op arena, I will add that Road Blasters had great music and sound.
TwinChargers #15 Posted October 27, 2011 This isn't very retro of me, but the soundtrack on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 is my personal favorite.
Rex Dart #16 Posted October 27, 2011 Jurassic Park games had some great music. Tell me these aren't still playing in your head 30 minutes after hearing 'em: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9tU1i-b6Bs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1EGNaPTACc
Segataritensoftii #17 Posted October 27, 2011 Space Station Silicon Valley has an excellently campy soundtrack which sets the mood perfectly and is very well composed. I also really like the Naughty Dog-era Crash Bandicoot soundtracks, particularly the first and third games. They're very underrated, well produced sets of music, especially the soundtrack for the first game with its quasi-ambient but subtly catchy nature. Other favorite soundtracks of mine: Bomberman 64: The Second Attack (N64) Chuck Rock 2: Son of Chuck (Amiga) Mega Man V (NES) Mega Man 10 (X360, Wii, PS3, PC?) Croc 2 (GBC) Bubsy Fractured Furry Tails (Jag)
