emkay #51 Posted November 1, 2011 No games really pushed the A8 hardware, they were still to be expected, if the hardware wouldn't have died so early. This statment is dumb. The A8 hardware has been out for over THIRTY YEARS, and software is still being developed for it. Look at recent projects like Yie Ar Kung Fu, Project M, Bomb Jake, Yoomp, Crownland, etc. Depending on the thread, "no game before 1992" did really push the A8. But, we should agree , games using Disk I/O during gameplay is actually one "hit" ... a big advance in the right direction. Even bigger is the missing usage of the "more cycles per frame" in PAL machines.
Thorsten Günther #52 Posted November 4, 2011 Even bigger is the missing usage of the "more cycles per frame" in PAL machines. The drawback of using these is that your software won't run on NTSC systems any more, at least not without glitches. Thorsten
Jacques #53 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) For me IK+ pushes ATARI a lot. Plenty of colours, animated background, great dynamics... Just hope it will be finished one day, it's promised to be so. http://www.uce.pl/ikplus/downloads.html Edited November 4, 2011 by Jacques
