birdie3
I did forget the wink smiley.. Either way, the game is freakin`amazing, dudes!! Having never really played Boulderdash before this version, I am rather hooked on it as of late. Thanks again!!
Pioneer4x4
Though it hasn't previously been announced, there is a bit of meaning behind the small bag of goodies. Each one of the contents represents one of the people who have contributed significantly to the game. One for Thomas, one for me... and 6 others whom I shall not name. So, even if you don't like them, they do have some significance to the package. Cheers A What about the other 3 things? Just freebies from Al? I thought they all were cool. Cambouis de l'Atari
Hi everyone, Yes, it's really a great cartridge. I was able to play a little now (cave D1, 2043 points ). I noticed something, I wonder wether it's a bug, or an event that I'm not aware ? I sometimes have the background that "sparkles", a bit like the starfield in Cosmic Ark. It happens generally once on each cave. I'm playing in pal 50 hz btw. And this was my first post
mtshark7
Yea I too noticed the snowy white screen sometimes. I thought it was a random power up until I got crushed, lol. Also what were the other 3 freebies? I only got random pins from Al and the bag of Diamonds.

achtbits
The last time I heard from my package was when it arrived at a USPS sort facility in Chicago 10 days ago. Should be arriving in Germany now any time soon! Or maybe it's at customs and they are playing it already...

Once I had a packet lie around at the customs office for 2 month until they decided to inform me that i can come and pick it up.
Rubio80
Received mine a couple of days ago and all I can say is AWESOME WORK guys, it´s a pleasure to play it!! Top quality in all aspects, from the game to the box and manual. I love the extras and it´s nice to see there´s a story behind them. BTW, when the background sparkles you have won a life, congratulations!!
+Random Terrain
Looks like I'll have to wait another month before I can buy one (if any are still left). I have to buy a wheelbarrow this month. It's on the list of things to buy, though.
Cambouis de l'Atari
Also what were the other 3 freebies? I only got random pins from Al and the bag of Diamonds. I guess the third is the poster ? I sometimes have the background that "sparkles", a bit like the starfield in Cosmic Ark. It happens generally once on each cave. RTFM! I did ! Suppose I was a bit tired when I read that chapter ! mtshark7
Haha I forgot about the poster! I left it out of the box so it wouldn't get all scrunched up each time I took out the game then put it back in.
birdie3
What about the other 3 things? Just freebies from Al? I thought they all were cool. Actually.. Yeah. I agree. The other ones, though? Not so much.
Pioneer4x4
Also what were the other 3 freebies? I only got random pins from Al and the bag of Diamonds. I meant the 3 pins from Al. I'd put them in my cube at work, but people already harass me too much...

+FujiSkunk
I recently decided I wanted to collect the original gatefold-box editions of Atari's first games for the 2600, and even more recently found a nice collection of them for sale here on AtariAge. In the same time frame, Boulder Dash was completed and mailed off to those who pre-ordered. And so it was by pleasant coincidence that these were delivered to my house the very same day: 35 years separate the release of two landmark titles for the 2600. No other console even comes close. tremoloman2006
Very good review, IMO. The "complaints" are spot on. I second that review... exactly how I felt as well. It is harder with the smaller view space, but this is the F*#%ING ATARI 2600 people!!! How the $#@% did they get this game on what was designed to be a Pong system?!? Still blows my mind! Fr0st
I had a great time last week; a few friends were over for drinks and craic, and i brought them up to the gamesroom to show off BD 2600. I started off by loading up BD on the c64, commented on the loading time, had a game, etc etc. THEN, fired up the 2600, showed them Centipede to show them the expected limitations on the atari, got carried away playing cos I only picked up a Trak Ball lately, bored them, then finally got around to putting on BD. Finally I fired up Boulderdash 2600. And from my little tutorial, they got it. A platformer of sorts. On an Atari. It just doesn't make sense. How? Graphically on a par with all other ports. So yeah, I was happy enough to make a few friends appreciate how long this game took to do, and how freaking amazing it is. And how for a gamer, while playing, you just can't help wonder how the hell this was possible....
