Vectrex Finally!

I finally got my hands on a Vectrex. Paid $100.00 for this not bad in my standards considering the ebay horror stories of them getting damaged or not working. But to try it before buying it is all worth it to me.

Agreed. I bought three Vectrex units by eBay, and all have small, annoying issues with them (although they were cheap). Then I found one on CL for $65, and it's got no issues at all...

 

The Vectrex is the jewel of my retro console collection.

One of the first things I'd recommend is a VecMulti.. It's a Vectrex multicart, but it's MicroSD based...

So, not only do you get to use it as a standard multicart, you also get to try out some of the GREAT homebrews that are available for DL..

You were lucky to get the Minestorm overlay. Did it come with any carts?

no but i picked up star trek and scramble both with overlays

I have always liked wire frame / vector graphics in the arcade and the same with the vectrex but i think most the games are poor on it,with Berzerk,Scramble and Spike about the best that i played which is a shame.From a collecting point of view though i would still pick one up though for the right price if i could and i think you did well for $100.

I have been thinking about getting one of these but wasn't sure where best to get them. I did not want to try on Ebay given what I've read about nightmares with these.
