Satoshi Matrix #1 Posted November 5, 2011 Hey guys, you may know me from my youtube channel or my blog that I'm a big retro gamer. As I continue to write the top 100 NES games of all time on my blog, I got an email from a subscriber who suggested I start my own podcast. Thinking it over, I consulted my gamer friends for their inputs and asked around in various forums for some advice and well, I've decided to give it a go. I've produced this prototype episode of what may be a podcast. Before I create an itunes or rrs feed, I just want to see what people think and if I should actually bother to do this kind of thing. I'm thinking I'd do a bi-weekly (possibly weekly) podcast to begin with and see what people think. So with some feedback I've received I've tried to make this as good as possible, but keep in mind I'm new at this and find balancing volume levels difficult, but I did try my best. For now, please let me know your thoughts. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FDOTYXHH

DemonoidTentacle #3 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Doing this as I listen. I'll be critical, but try to be constructive. I felt the opening song went a little long, if it was a vodcast the length would be okay. I can tell that you're reading from a script. I'd try and feel a bit more natural about it. It's an 13 minute podcast, with some good prep I think it's highly achievable to memorise your whole script and "act" it out. That might seem unachievable, and I used to think so too. Treat it like public speaking. You seemed to relax a little bit towards the end of talking about Boulderdash 2600. The information that you're giving out is great. The review is covering some good points. I would've liked it if you quickly touched on a few Super Famicom games that you'd recommend along with the tech tutorial. All in all, I don't normally listen to podcasts, but I'm interested to hear some more from you. I can't stress your performance enough. If you would like some simple tips on your performance, send me a PM, without getting into it, vocal performance is part of my job, and I'm happy to help out. Having a big think about your podcast, I'd actually like to frequently tune in, simply because you might have some news that I have missed. S1500 #5 Posted December 6, 2011 Okay, 4 minutes in. Here's what I want you to do. Loosen up! We can tell you're reading from a script. I feel like I'm listening to NPR. I want you to take a good swig of some Canadian Whiskey, get frustrated playing some retro game, aaaand you're on! Let's hear some personality! Toss the script! Podcast naked!
