Sigh, well I guess everyone will get to see just how bad I am at River Raid, lol.

I used to be average at best on River Raid until I really read the manual. The original 5200 stick is perfect for this game IMO. I've found every other port of this game to be much harder than the 5200 version due to the controls. The game is the same, just the 5200 sticks make the difference.
