Thomas Jentzsch
I've just posted the first 15 submissions to the label contest page. Have to check them out now. I wonder if anyone will post a "Smashed Rockford" label...

CPUWIZ
Too bad the Atari Age and First Star logos are missing on most of them.
Thomas Jentzsch
Too bad the Atari Age and First Star logos are missing on most of them. Shouldn't be a big problem to add them later. So for me this is no big deal.
Albert
Too bad the Atari Age and First Star logos are missing on most of them. Not important at all, we can add those easily. I'm more interested in the actual artwork. ..Al
+Nathan Strum
I wonder if anyone will post a "Smashed Rockford" label... I've never been very good at caricaturing James Garner. Can't seem to get the chin right.

I'm more interested in the actual artwork. Are both logos going to be added? There's required text, yes, but logos as well? That should be mentioned on the contest page, so people can leave space for them, if they don't incorporate them themselves.
Mayhem
Out of interest, is there an issue if the original artwork from 1984 wanted to be used? Edited November 19, 2011 by Mayhem
+Andrew Davie
Out of interest, is there an issue if the original artwork from 1984 wanted to be used? Provided all copyrighted material is used only with the copyright owner's permission, then that's fine. It's your job to obtain that permission before submitting an entry. Cheers A

Of course we could help here, but we are aiming for something fresh and new. So if someones comes up with something which uses copyrighted FSS material, the chances are pretty low that this submission gets selected. Not because of the copyrighted material, but because most likely because we wouldn't like the submission. If you think your submission is fresh and new enough, even though some copyrighted FSS material is used, you still can give it a try. Albert
I've posted three new labels. Seemo (Entry #6) Jason Rein (Entry #2) Brian Ostrowski (Entry #1) Keep 'em coming! ..Al
r_type2600
Brian Ostrowski (Entry #1) Keep 'em coming! ..Al Love this one! Rockford could maybe do with a small carotene injection (I know there's little sun in those caverns, but still), but otherwise this label conquers. Even manages to make one forget the memorable original artwork. Edited November 20, 2011 by r_type2600

the.golden.ax
Well I'm highly encouraged to see that no one has done the same thing I've been tinkering with. If I don't finish before the 27th, I guess I'll send it in as is, since it can be tweaked later if the powers that be are interested. Lots of great submissions. Not so sure some of those can be beaten by mere mortals AX

Not because of the copyrighted material, but because most likely because we wouldn't like the submission. Actually, I meant more that I'd really like the 2600 version to have a label that uses the original 1984 artwork. But that's just the nostalgia in me. I was inquiring if there would be an issue for using it in some way. I'm not creative enough in that respect to go submitting a label of my own design heh...
