+doctorclu #303 Posted February 7, 2014 The 'bubsy master !!' tell Impulse X is frustating !!! The day when you will see me playing bubsy you will see what frustrating means Or as later said will HEAR what frustrating means. That would be fun to video. Playing Impulse X my wife probably heard me mumbling all kinds of curses, I might have gotten red in the face, but I kept hitting that game restart when I died. Imagine that. Reading this thread I find myself wanting to go home from work right now and play more.
OBO #304 Posted February 7, 2014 If I can trick GT (maybe with a lot of Haribo candies ?) into playing Bubsy during the next AC convention, I'll film it and post the video
82-T/A #305 Posted February 8, 2014 Ok guys, I'm really sorry... please don't hate me. I like this game so much and I've been playing the **** out of it. I just wanted to make sure that if I break it or screw it up, that I'll still have a back-up. So... I just bought another one. I was trying my hardest not to buy it because I didn't want to end up screwing someone else from being able to buy it... but I couldn't help it... I had to buy another one. 5 left now...
JagChris #306 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) This is a-ok! No worries here. Thats the best reason to buy another copy. Edited February 8, 2014 by JagChris
82-T/A #307 Posted February 8, 2014 This is a-ok! No worries here. Thats the best reason to buy another copy. Thanks! I do feel bad, hahah... I don't right now, but when the number gets down to 1, then I will...
+save2600 #308 Posted February 8, 2014 Hoarder! I'm sure you'll feel better once you realize carts don't typically "break" for no good reason and your extra copy somehow, mysteriously and "accidentally" winds up on ePay for more than 3x its original selling price. sh3-rg #309 Posted February 8, 2014 Thanks! I do feel bad, hahah... I don't right now, but when the number gets down to 1, then I will... Where are you getting the numbers from? Console5 stock or something? I don't know if Matthias has ever said anything about numbers he's going to make available, but it'd be pretty odd to find out there's only one more copy out there to be had. Hah, so we're clear.... I just gave away, for free, 4 game systems and a ton of games on here for free, even shipped it them for free! (5200, NES, Genesis, Lynx, etc) Where are you getting the numbers from? Console5 stock or something? I don't know if Matthias has ever said anything about numbers he's going to make available, but it'd be pretty odd to find out there's only one more copy out there to be had. Yeah, that's what I was basing it on. They have the number listed at the bottom.

Rick Dangerous #312 Posted February 20, 2014 Still available for the Jag CD if you know where to look Ordered my copy today! Does anyone know if it utilizes the memory track, or plays any different than the cart version? I understand why developers put stuff out on carts. There are 200k jags and only 20k jag CD's...but I still love when stuff is available on CD!! $30 bucks instead of $90.....sold.
+save2600 #313 Posted February 20, 2014 Still available for the Jag CD if you know where to look Ordered my copy today! Does anyone know if it utilizes the memory track, or plays any different than the cart version? Yes, it saves high scores and game settings. Gameplay shouldn't be different between the cartridge and CD versions. Least, I hadn't heard anything to the contrary.
racerx #314 Posted February 20, 2014 I understand why developers put stuff out on carts. There are 200k jags and only 20k jag CD's... I would hazard a guess though, that a fairly high percentage of those who still care enough to buy (or are even aware of) new Jag releases also have JagCDs. That's a good point. Though I have come across one or two hardcore jag fans in this forum (not to name any names lol) that have sworn off the Jag CD for various reasons. I love mine. My bedroom Jag looks naked without it...
JagChris #316 Posted February 21, 2014 Hardcore Jag fan who has sworn off Jag CD is kinda a contradiction. That's a good point. Rick Dangerous #317 Posted February 21, 2014 I know it would seem so. There was at least one person with a ton of posts and even jaguar programming experience who mentioned that they no longer messed with the Jag CD... Seems odd to me as well.
82-T/A #318 Posted February 21, 2014 Hahah... I have programming experience, not on the Jag... but I'm weird about my JagCD too... I'll probably start using it again. Not to hijack this thread too... but yeah, I'm always scared it's going to break. Cartridges just feel more tangible.
+CyranoJ #319 Posted February 21, 2014 Those pins in the cart port are kinda easy to bend, too. P-A-R-A-N-O-I-A Hahah... ls650 #320 Posted February 21, 2014 Hardcore Jag fan who has sworn off Jag CD is kinda a contradiction. No, it isn't: I had a JagCD for about 3 years, and never really enjoyed the games for it. There were maybe 3 I liked. It made a lot of sense to sell it and put the money towards a Skunkboard, which I get a heck of a lot more use out of. Unfortunately the Skunk is now out of production and sell on eBay for even higher prices than a JagCD. That's really too bad. I hope that someone can someday put out a similar device for a reasonable price.

The forerunner of all modern VLMs put into modern consoles and PC Media players? No Vid Grid? Among others things? Very very debatable to say. I still say yes its a contradiction. +CyranoJ #322 Posted February 21, 2014 Well, you can replace the VLM with any visualization plugin for a media player (milkdrop?) - besides, who uses CDs anymore? .....and you can replace Vid Grid with this: So it's not such a big leap
JagChris #323 Posted February 21, 2014 CJ the reason your CD player always gives you a hard time is because it likes messing with you. if I was your Jag CD player, i'd mess with your ass too. +CyranoJ #324 Posted February 21, 2014 It's actually VERY reliable with pressed disks, and pretty good with CD-R (provided my laptop burns them, if my tower burns them they never work) I still think its a plastic piece of shit tho CJ the reason your CD player always gives you a hard time is because it likes messing with you. if I was your Jag CD player, i'd mess with your ass too.
LinkoVitch #325 Posted February 21, 2014 I have about 7+ JagCD Units, I have taken a load of them apart, I can safely say I agree with CJ, they are poorly made shite. Look ugly, too and are very unreliable. I'd say I am a pretty solid Jagfan, I am also not a fan of the CD unit. I really should get them fixed up and out of my garage, just can't bring myself to bother with them.
