davidbrit2 #1 Posted January 10, 2003 I have two copies of this cool looking Intellivision game, but niether of them work! Is there some known issue with making this game operate, or am I just extremely unlucky?
christianscott #2 Posted January 10, 2003 could it be that you're using a intellivision II? theres a deliberate block on 3rd party carts on that model, i think the intellivoice also gives soem third party games problems.
davidbrit2 #3 Posted January 10, 2003 It's just a standard Intellivision. I've also tried it with the Intellivoice, and the computer module, but niether of those did anything. Weird. I just turn the thing on, and get a solid green screen.
Lemmi #4 Posted January 10, 2003 I hate when this happens 2 copies of the same game just wont work, I have the same problem with Alien Syndrome for the Sega Master System I tried them in both my systems turn on the power and nothing happens
Bivotar #5 Posted January 10, 2003 I assume you tried the obvious and hit the Reset button a few times on your Intellivision? Some games/specific consoles seem to need you to hit the Reset when you fire it up the console. Other than that, have you given them a good cleaning? It's pretty suspect that two of the same games don't work, but you never know. On games I suspect are dirty and don't work, I definitely get out the FINE sandpaper and give the contacts a light rubbing. Follow that with alchol and qtips. I don't even bother with the old 'rub them with an eraser', as I've never had much luck with that. Good luck. Cool game, hope you get it working. davidbrit2 #6 Posted January 10, 2003 I've tried pretty much everything you mentioned, except for the sandpaper. Maybe I'll give it a go, and see if it helps. Reset didn't do anything, either. I even tried starting up a working game, switching cartridges with the power on, then hitting reset. Hey, you never know - the "disc swap" might be older than we think. Heh. I'm also quite suspicious that these are the only two cartridges I have that won't work on my Intellivision I. Did Mattel implement some other 3rd party lockout before the advent of the INTV II, perhaps? And as for the eraser trick, that usually works best with CDs. :-) It's worked all but one time for me!
