I just found 4 new complete RARE PDI Programs

Recommended Posts

Today I found 4 PDI programs in original packaging and they look to be new. They are for the early Atari computers. Is there more info out there about this company?

What I found...

The Adventures of Oswald - 5 1/4 Disk and Audio Cassette

Code Breaker / 16K - Cassette

Minicrossword / 24K - Cassette

Kross 'N Quotes / 16K - Cassette

Atarimania.com lists them at rarity 9 for the top three and Kross 'N Quotes isn't even listed with a rating. Any other opions on how rare these are?

The Atari Mania rarity guide is for complete boxed items. Are these loose cassettes? Cassettes and disks in general are not as desirable for most collectors as cartridges.

A low "9" in rarity seems appropriate for the items you got. Nice score, particularly if they're new!

PDI titles usually don't sell for that much, apart from some of the more ambitious, less educational programs and the "late" 1984-85 software which seems almost impossible to find.

Do you want to keep the games? If so, please consider dumping them. Otherwise, I'll gladly buy the lot so everything can be archived.

Exactly. Re-read the first sentence in the first post.

Hey Gunstar, Thanks for pointing out again that what I found are new. I guess psoting pictures would help. I'll work on that...

So you have some of the other good stuff; a TI-99/4A and a Laser128. Those bring back memories...

I aquired both of those computers in non-working condition. I am in the process of restoring them. I haven't even actually used them yet. I've got power issues with both, I can not find original cords/powerpacks so I'm rewiring with substitutes. The Laser128 uses multiple voltages with the built-in disk drive, so that's an issue. I've powered both up and know they work, now, but I used my analog/digital trainer box for the temporary power sources. As you can see, they need a bit more work, especially the TI 99/4A which is missing keys.

I'll keep my eyes open for another TI-99/4A for you. I see them every now and then. Good luck with your power issues. I'm no help there...
