pimpmaul69 #1 Posted November 17, 2011 First off i would like to apologize to Yurkie. I had several good conversations with him and told him I wanted to send my controllers to do the ball mod when i had money, but i am just too poor to do it. But thank you for your time you spent talking to me. So I decided to do my own mod. I had some non-working Odyssey 2 controllers so i opened them up, cut off the joysticks, and modified the Coleco controllers to install the Odyssey 2 joysticks in the Coleco controllers. They work really well. And this is what i came up with.
+boxpressed #2 Posted November 17, 2011 Cool. Any other pics of the interior? I have some flaky O2 sticks myself...
pimpmaul69 #3 Posted November 17, 2011 Cut the odyssey joystick off with about 1/2 inch of metal bar exposed under the joystick "knob". I used a pair of linemans pliers to cut it off. Then take the coleco controller apart and remove joystick disc "knob". Take the plastic piece that disc was screwed to an drill hole out all the way up to a 3/16 drill bit. Dont just drill with that bit. Work your way up. On the 3/16 bit do not drill but one quick time as to not make hole too big. Then shove the odyssey 2 joystick into hole u drilled out. Hope this makes sense.
Yurkie #4 Posted November 17, 2011 Pimpmaul69 I don't think of it as wasting my time, I think of it as talking to a fellow classic gamer. If your enjoying your mod, that the important thing.

pimpmaul69 #8 Posted November 20, 2011 Thank you everyone. And thank you Yurkie for being a cool dude. The disc top on the controllers made them absolutely useless to me. ( I heard people who palm em' like em') There is a good throw in it now and complete accuracy. Still got my ass whooped in Cosmic Avenger though. Wish i still had the arcade. Luvved it. CRTGAMER #11 Posted December 10, 2011 Nice easy to do mod. I can see where the thinner stick over gripping the original round knob offers a different way to bump the directions. Do you notice any difference in accuracy in hitting the corners?
