ST problem #1

My "new" 520STfm has just arrived in the mail. When I turn it on, though, it just makes a very brief "wooshh" sound (which I take to be the fuse firing as, when taken out, no sound emits from the unit).

The machine will not start up and the power light does not come one.

I am NOT familiar at all with the ST machines.

Does it sound like the power unit's gone...making it necessary to get a replacement?
