Pixelboy #26 Posted November 22, 2011 Wow, I just did a casual check on eBay for my games currently under auction (as well as some TV shows on DVD) and none of my auctions are visible on eBay.com, even though I specified shipping options for US buyers! Turns out my auctions are only visible on eBay.ca! Good grief, is eBay truely that messed up now?

Hmm, It is weird if I do a colecovision search I can't see your games but if I search for the auction id then it finds it and shows it to me and I do see United States in the shipping area Not sure why that would happen. I double-checked after 5-11under gave me some advice (in the AA Marketplace) and it turns out that my auctions do show up on eBay.com, but only if the advanced search is used, to specify items outside eBay.com (which for all practical purposes means items outside the US). I can understand US eBay members not wanting to see items located outside the US, but on the other hand, how many sales opportunities are lost because searching for "Gulkave" yields zero results when a user performs a casual search from eBay.com's starting page? I guess I can kinda understand, there are many dumb people in the US and you don't want them doing searches and not noticing that the item they are buying is actually from overseas and then they get pissed when it doesn't get to them in a day. This way you are smart enough to know you want to see everything if you change the search preference so less trouble of stupid people calling an complaining that they didn't notice their antique bronze flower was coming from austraila and they are scared because it is dark out. I say it is ebay dummy proofing the search option. I guess they have more faith in other countries to know what they are doing P.S. I use the worldwide site just to make sure I see everything so I saw your games. Pretty generous of you to sell them so cheap where as an actual ebay bid could get you some better profit. Like someone selling your pitfall II for 700 bucks -- hopefully no one is dumb enough to buy that one.

Just have a "include international items" checkbox next the the search textbox, at least on the start page. Some users may still miss the checkbox and get US-only search results, but at least it would give international sellers and buyers a better chance to spot each other. As it is, it's just too easy to forget that results are US-only. P.S. I use the worldwide site just to make sure I see everything so I saw your games. Pixelboy #32 Posted November 22, 2011 The "worldwide site"? Whazzat? Sorry should have said global http://global.ebay.com/ Cool, thanks for the tip. I didn't know that kind of eBay hub site existed.
Pixelboy #33 Posted November 25, 2011 (edited) Hello people! I got a small problem here, and I'm hoping one of you fine gentlemen (or ladies?) will be willing to help me out. I just bought Daniel Bienvenu's Bustin' Out #1 and #2 on eBay (I've been looking for those two games for years) but I don't currently have enough money in my Paypal balance to cover the BIN amount. Now many of you here have vowed to purchase all six of my upcoming Team Pixelboy titles, so could one of you send me 100$US via Paypal as an advance payment on their purchase? In exchange for this service, not only will I substract 100 bucks from that person's future order of Team Pixelboy games, but I will also go out of my way to process that particular order a few days before the official release date of December 25th 2011. Send me a PM if you are willing to help a fellow collector out. EDIT: Case closed! I got the money! Thanks a bunch!
