Silver 7800

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys:

Just sharing:

I think I like this one better than my white one. I have an '84 (with expansion port) 7800 that the plastic was looking pretty scuffed. So, I threw the case in the dishwasher, swapped out the power LED with one that changes color, and used plastic paint (krylon) to paint it silver. It came out *awesome*! I might even take a set of joysticks and paint them to match.

I did not A/V mod this one, because believe it or not it looks a lot *better* with RF than Composite on my LCD tv (It doesn't have an S-Video input).

What do you think?

I normally hate it, absolutely hate it, when people old consoles and computers, just because I think they look horrible... but this looks slick as heck. Nice job!

Very nice - I normally avoid silver for older electronics (as it seems to be more of a "newer" color), but it works quite nicely with the black buttons & the nameplate. I've been toying with the idea of giving the same treatment to a SNES...would certainly look better than yellow.

Looks great! love to see people taking a system that has seen better days and makin um prideful again... now if only other people that do this type of thing would put in the same amount of time and thought as you did... I've seen NESs painted white with straight up house paint... so shameful...

That's a damn nice paint job!IMO, Atari should've painted the 7800 in that silver at factory!
