Faicuai #151 Posted March 2, 2012 F-SICK (!!!) I am an avid player of this game, but mostly exclusively on MAME64 ("Puckman") and PS3's edition. I have to say that I am truly impressed not just with the results of this version, but how it DESTROYS any other PacMan version I remember playing on the A8bits. It looks, feels and almost sounds sufficiently close to my preferred (and original) versions. Once again, history-rewritten. KUDOS. F.
Pengwin #152 Posted March 2, 2012 Works brilliantly. I love the new front screen. The screen corruption that I saw before has now gone as well.
Pengwin #153 Posted March 2, 2012 Should have mentioned... the colours look great on a Pal system.
+Philsan #154 Posted March 2, 2012 It would be nice if Ms. Pac-Man could receive a similar treatment.

atx4us #157 Posted March 3, 2012 Here's the latest xex version with MrFish's intro screen. Other than possible bug fixes, this will be the last version. I havn't had any feedback on the PAL colors, so I'm assuming they are ok. If anybody has suggestions for color tweaks, I consider making those changes. The next update will be adding the intro to the cart version. Fantastic! Thank you. I bought my Atari 800 in the eighties so that I can play Pac-Man. This version is so much better than the Atari released version.
Spurge #158 Posted March 3, 2012 Absolutely brilliant! Just loaded up V8 and the title screen looks fantastic. This is one fine product right here. You are to be commended sir, it's fantastic! Thank You!!!

Spurge #162 Posted March 3, 2012 You know what, This is one of the two only programs I feel is rock solid in it's gameplay. The other is Donkey Kong. Imagine if this came out in 1982! Can't wait to see what else you have in the pipeline, want to give us a few hints

Shannon #164 Posted March 3, 2012 Really nice but on NTSC the orange looks more like a Tomato.. At least in atari800win and altirra..

tep392 #166 Posted March 3, 2012 Firestorm, Please provide some details. Is it just black screen? Does the intro screen load? How are you loading it? Is your machine modified or standard? Anyone else having problems with PAL machines?
Rybags #167 Posted March 3, 2012 It looks like it doesn't work if Basic is swapped in. Generally a good idea with any such game, put an early Init segment in to ensure it's disabled.

tep392 #169 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) Really nice but on NTSC the orange looks more like a Tomato.. At least in atari800win and altirra.. I went back and looked at pacmanv5.xex and the orange is much more orange. Looks good on my 400 and in emulation. I'll go back to that color. firestorm #170 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) OK, tried again and v8.xex is working on my Atari 800 PAL and 800XL PAL, just not every time I'm loading. About colours on PAL I would like to help. I'm comparing image from Atari 800XL on CRT TV with screenshot from Pac-Man on wikipedia. Tep392, we can use colors.xex to point out closest matches on Pal, can we? firestorm #172 Posted March 3, 2012 Let the upper left corner be 0,0 Pac-Man should be 15 right,1 down Pinky 15 right,4 down Clyde 10 right,2 down Inky, hmm not existing on atari, Blinky 4 right, 3 down To be honest, I think is ok just to change Pac-Man character(yellow) to the colour from v1.xex for PAL.
