pocketmego #1 Posted November 30, 2011 Hey, I had seen it mentioned earlier. But with a few of us here who are using ONLIVE and a desire to discuss it more in depth. I was hoping it would be added to the sub folders for the other Platforms. I think it qualifies and deserves some space of its own. It also helps to eliminate topics about the service from those who simply aren't interested in it. Just my 2 cents.
Austin #3 Posted November 30, 2011 I have the feeling "Cloud Gaming" is going to continue to grow, so I suppose a dedicated area to talk about it wouldn't hurt.
Metal Ghost #4 Posted November 30, 2011 Aren't there more PC gamers than ONLIVE? I'd think that PC gaming would deserve one first. As with OP, just my 2¢
OldSchoolRetroGamer #5 Posted November 30, 2011 PC Gaming then Onlive / Cloud Gaming subforums?
Austin #6 Posted November 30, 2011 Agreed, a PC gaming sub-forum would be nice, too.
pocketmego #7 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) Aren't there more PC gamers than ONLIVE? I'd think that PC gaming would deserve one first. As with OP, just my 2¢ You and "Old School Retro Gamer" are correct. Fair is Fair PC should be first then ONLIVE/Cloud gaming. Because right now as an ONLIVE gamer I am, by default, also a PC gamer. So I can live with that. But an update to this Modern area of discussion is definitely NEEDED. It looks like it did back when I was posting regularly here, which was 6 years ago. Atariboy #8 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Sure doesn't seem to be much OnLive discussion here. A search doesn't even yield two pages worth of thread results and that's with the first topic about it having been started two and a half years ago. And many of these hits have nothing to even do with OnLive. Dedicated forum sections aren't supposed to be a popularity contest. They're meant to organize forum discussion in a logical manner to keep things clear and concise. A dedicated forum section that gets a couple of topics and a few dozen post over the course of a year doesn't accomplish anything, except perhaps kill what little discussion there is on the subject matter since it will be so infrequently used that people won't make visiting that corner of the forum a part of their regular rounds. A dedicated thread on the other hand, perhaps stickied if there was ever a PC gaming subforum here, would make sense. But for now, this is one of three threads out of fifty (with 30 post or so between them) on the 1st page of the modern gaming forum that actually have anything to do with OnLive. A dedicated OnLive forum seems like a solution without a problem to me since it's barely even a blip on the general section of the modern gaming forum. There have been subforums made on here that have even less activity/discussion than OnLive.
Reaperman #10 Posted December 1, 2011 I haven't gotten the impression that we were very thick with onlive fans on here yet. That's not too surprising considering that we're a game forum that's pretty heavy into collecting and outdated hardware, but the tide might start to turn when the next xbox and playstation come out with huge price tags. Onlive is the first non-physical gaming that I've done which offers any advantage over physical media (in both lower prices and less hassle), and I'd love to see more discussion of it around here, special forum or not. I actually have joined an onlive-specific forum offsite, but I feel extremely out of place on there.

More and more of us are going to start appearing as the gaming landscape changes going forward. But, YO REAPER...Represent! I think we, along with my wife, might be sum totality of ONLIVE users from the Gulf South! Definitely from the 504.
