Metal Ghost #1 Posted December 2, 2011 So it occurred to me about a month ago that, for as much as I love playing my older games, I just simply haven't in quite a long time. I don't usually game much, if at all, during the summer. Then as I broke out the 'ol controllers once more in late summer I had such a backlog of 360 games that I really wanted to play that, well that was that. I did bring an N64 on the road with me during some business trips, but I didn't have enough time to quite get through the game I had brough (Jet Force Gemini). And that's not like me....I'm more of a completionist, yet this doesn't seem to hold true outside of my 360 lately. So, last month I decided that December would be my personal 'Classic Gaming Month'. Basically I'm holding off on playing any Xbox 360 (my only current-gen console) until December 25th. I'm admitedly holding this definition in rather loose terms, since A)I'm classifying anything other than my Xbox 360 as classic, which includes my Game Cube; B) I'm only going through the 24th since if I do get any new discs under the tree this year I'm really not gong to want to keep from playing them until the new year (I have a sneaking suspision that my wife is getting me the new Rayman game); C) I'm not counting Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Atari Anthalogy and Intillivision Lives! discs for Xbox as off limits. Enough caveats for y'all! Well that's the plan. Looking forward to wrapping up 2 unfinished N64 games I have right now....the previously mentioned Jet Force Gemini and DK64. JFG is first on the list....played some last night and slid right back into it. It's going to be a good month! Then I should have Failsafe and Pac-Man Collection coming my way any day now (fingers crossed). And finally on the GameCube I have the better part of Eternal Darkness finished that I want to get through. So I know that alot of AA'ers don't do the whole current-gen thing. But if you do and you were in the same boat as me, take a break until Christmas and fire up that old console!
