BillC
Audio and composite video most likely. Mitch Some monitors have separate Horizontal & Vertical sync as well. This device was most likely for an Atari arcade game system, not a computer
www.atarimania.com
I can't look this up right now but did you check whether the item appears in Atari's 8-bit master list? You'll find it on our site in the "docs" section. -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com

bombidragon
I Need to see how many I have, I wonder how much it would be to have the chinese reproduce these? RGB is popular right now.
mimo
I Need to see how many I have, I wonder how much it would be to have the chinese reproduce these? RGB is popular right now. that is a good idea, it looks pretty simple, should be fairly inexpensive to reproduce, maybe in a smaller form factor. Wonder if it would work on a 400/XL/xe¿
atari-passion
Hello, here is the other side my Atari 400 has a similar card with a direct cable scart. Arnaud
Mathy
Hello guys @Arnaud: Thanks for the picture. @Mimo: Shouldn't be to hard for somebody who's designed PCB's before, to reduce this to at least half the size. Sincerely Mathy
BillC
It appears the DIN8 connector was commonly used for Peritel before they standardized on the SCART/Euro connector, which became compulsory on all new television sets sold in France starting from January 1980. The ZX Spectrum +3 also used the DIN8 and I came across the following instructions for building an SCART adapter cable for it. It should be possible to adapt to other connectors using the SCART pinout information but RGB output may require a 15MHz compatible monitor. mimo
I would doubt that it would need a 15mhz monitor. Surely this was produced to use in the home on a standard TV set
mimo
Hello, here is the other side my Atari 400 has a similar card with a direct cable scart. Arnaud How different is the 400 board? Any chance of some pictures? I would love an rgb
bombidragon
The Plot thickens. I Just realized I got my Atari 800 and 400 from the same guy and both of them have wood grain, screw down, cartridge doors made out of steel. I can't even find a picture of these things. All of the ones I have seen have plastic doors on hinges. Will post pics later Edited November 22, 2012 by bombidragon
bombidragon
I also have 2 more peritel boards for sale if someone wants to trade or such for them. PM if interested.
adam242
Does this board provide RGB output or is it simply an adapter for the 8-pin standard? My (admittedly limited) understanding of peritel/SCART is that is has connections for composite video as well. If this board can be cloned to provide an easy RGB output, this is pretty exciting.. Just seems too good to be true.

bombidragon
Bottom of the main circuit board like in the pic's above. I have not tried one yet because there isn't a space to put it in-in my 800. Edited November 23, 2012 by bombidragon
mimo
I hope its rgb, the French 7800 has a similar daughter board and that outputs rgb
