Amiga external floppy drive

Hello guys, since the last week, one of my a500 died on me(well, almost), so, now i have a external floppy disk drive that will sit unused until it get repaired. COuld be used this drive on the Atari using the hard disk connector?. I'm asking because it has the same type, as opposed to the disk drive connector on the atari. I think it won't, but anyway, if anyone knows or used similarly this kind of setup, would gladly take any idea.

At the moment i didn't plug it in case it frys something. I love too much my ste.

No, you cannot simply use an Amiga floppy drive in an ST's hard drive port. Plug it in, especially while the machine is on and be prepared to see fireworks!

ST's DMA port has nothing to do with wiring of identical connector used on Amiga external FD port. You can get an adapter for ST external drive round connector for some model of drive eg Cumana..

Ok, much clearer now.

This was one of the reasons why i asked first before connecting it.
