S1500 #1 Posted December 11, 2011 So this is something I've been working off and on for a few months. It's still quite buggy & incomplete. Heck, I still don't even have barely anything for artwork on it. http://youtu.be/vvMtnBDdU6M Anyone good at compositing/drawing Transformers artwork? S1500 #2 Posted December 20, 2011 So, any feedback?
Austin #3 Posted December 22, 2011 It looks pretty interesting. I've looked at the scripting for Visual Pinball tables, and I can't imagine being able to do something like that myself, so I naturally have to give you kudos for what you've made so far. The table would look pretty nice with some decent artwork, but unfortunately I cannot help much there outside of jacking a high-res image from a Google search. I did not fathom just how much coding is involved for a deep ruleset(mid-90s on up) pinball table. There's a lot of accounting and events to handle. I figure just work on it a couple hours each day. As for artwork, I'm going to just composite images & make up lights. I realized I have a lot more resolution to work with now, which means text & other things won't look so bad. ComputerSpaceFan #5 Posted January 11, 2012 Hey there S1500, I was just listening to The Pinball Podcast and I noticed those guys review video pinball games in addition to real pinball. If you want to generate a little free advertising for your project, maybe let the hosts know about your Transformers table and see what they think. Just for fun. Been too busy with Skyrim to work on it lately. There's plenty of people making their own tables, a few on vpforums. One of them makes tables that can only be described as a playable myspace page. Colors to make your eyes bleed! I looked at one of the recreations of the game "Cyclone" in Future Pinball. remember, no PinMAME emulation. A whopping 16000 lines of code. I was shocked. It made my code look like a hello world program. I do listen to the pinball podcast now. It's a good show.
