Recommended Posts

What was the last title Atari published for the

2600 family in the US and in the world ?

(Maybe it is RoadRunner 1989 in the US?)

What was the last title shipped to members of the Atari club ?

Thanks !

I'm reasonably sure that it was Quadrun because it was introduced in the second-to-last issue of the AtariAge mag (vol.2 no. 4, Nov. 1983). You can find a scan of the issue here : http://www.tripoint.org/games/literature/a...e/atariage.html

Jeez, looking at the price for Quadrun when it was new makes me wish I bought it back then! How much does it go for thesedays?

Well, it may look like quite a good investment but keep in mind that the same $32 that you spent in 1993 would work out to about $58 now. So, you've got to adjust your $600 accordingly.

I'm still confused about the Secret Quest. Unless it was programmed in 1989 but released in 1990, I can't see how it's the last US title when there are games with 1990 copyrights that were released in the US.

As for in the world, not sure exactly, but I know Ghostbusters II was released in 1992.

I thought it was Sentinel for NTSC.

PAL KLAX was the last Atari Corp release I know of for the 2600 worldwide, and Save Mary was the last commissioned Atari Corp game finished and ready to go (but not released for any TV standard).

Supposedly, 2600 games are STILL being manufactured in some third world nations. As for Europe, I remember reading 1994 somewhere.

Aren't games still being made for the 2600 *COUGHHOMEBREWSCOUGH* ;) j/k
