toymailman #5 Posted December 15, 2011 Thanks everyone. This was one I never thought I'd get. Now my CIB "need" list is one smaller. This is my first CIB R10 too (by the AA guide). I think I have all the R8's and below and about half the R9's. I am on the lookout for NTSC BOMB carts and a River Patrol box.
high voltage #6 Posted December 15, 2011 incl SongMate and PictureMate?
Rom Hunter #7 Posted December 15, 2011 Congratulations! Does it say Spectravision in the front plastics of the cart?
high voltage #8 Posted December 15, 2011 How come you find a boxed Mangia and I've been looking for 100 years and I only ever see carts only. Not fair....

Zwackery #10 Posted December 15, 2011 So, seeing as how you bought the loose cart on eBay - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280787451880 - did you then match it up to an empty box you've had for awhile?
high voltage #11 Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) Ah ok... Wow expensive NTSC cart indeed Edited December 15, 2011 by high voltage
toymailman #12 Posted December 16, 2011 incl SongMate and PictureMate? SongMate=yes, but PictureMate=no (still waiting on the stash in Venezuela to be tapped) Congratulations! Does it say Spectravision in the front plastics of the cart? All the pieces of this set are Spectravideo. Gotta keep your ear close to the ground! Indeed! So, seeing as how you bought the loose cart on eBay - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280787451880 - did you then match it up to an empty box you've had for awhile? For the rare stuff, I've found it really hard to get CIB in one swoop.
toymailman #13 Posted December 17, 2011 Congratulations! Does it say Spectravision in the front plastics of the cart? Upon further inspection it does have Spectravision on the cart shell, but the label has Spectravideo. What does this mean?
nofrills100 #14 Posted December 17, 2011 Ah ok... Wow expensive NTSC cart indeed For an R10 - pretty low in my opinion. It just doesn't have the hype that Air Raid does... in fact I reckon there'd be more Air Raids than NTSC Mangia Congratulations! Does it say Spectravision in the front plastics of the cart? Upon further inspection it does have Spectravision on the cart shell, but the label has Spectravideo. What does this mean? I think this is the norm. Probably still using an overstock of Spectravision cartridges, despite the change in company name.
Rom Hunter #15 Posted December 17, 2011 The interesting thing is that all NTSC carts I've seen pictures of say Spectravision on the front plastics, while the PAL versions say Spectravideo in the front plastics.
+bfstats #16 Posted December 18, 2011 I've been collecting since 1981 and have never even SEEN an NTSC Mangia let alone had the opportunity to acquire one. Even wrote to SpectraVision back in the day in an effort to buy direct - that didn't work. I have Mangia CIB but it's PAL. Had to way overspend on CIB Master Builder and Gas Hog and STILL haven't found a Bumper Bash manual. The reason I say all this is to give props to toymailman - SpectraVision/Video has been the bane of my collecting existence - so this is, in my opinion, a serious accomplishment for any collector. Nicely done, Sir!
high voltage #17 Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) I never found a boxed Gas Hog, lose copies float around all the time, where are those boxes? But I found a boxed Piraten Schiff, which is Gas Hog anyway, that's good enough for me. Edited December 18, 2011 by high voltage
video game addict #18 Posted December 22, 2011 I've always thought the NTSC Mangia box would say Canadian Tire on it. Piecemealing a set is okay in my opinion but it deserves an asterisk if you list it as complete NTSC unless it's proven otherwise. I was happy with complete PAL Mangia in my collection, it's those types of games you wait years on and may never attain so a nice PAL copy works as filler until a stash arrives.. But it is SO nice to complete lists!

But it is SO nice to complete lists! Nope. The PAL and NTSC boxes are the same, apart from an NTSC sticker that appears on the box of the NTSC version (which incidentally this box does not have), so this is not technically a complete NTSC box set

These appear on occasion in Sth America too. What keeps the price high on Air Raids is that the same buyers keep buying them
nofrills100 #21 Posted December 22, 2011 so... who wants to buy ntsc stickers just kidding!
high voltage #22 Posted December 22, 2011 Wow, lucky I don't care about Pal /ntsc variants. A video game from any country is welcome in my house.
