+rockdoc2010 #1 Posted December 23, 2011 I wish to buy this upgrade from B&C but they have misplaced the instructions. Does anyone have a set that they have scanned? Still working on video connectivity issues.. once resolved I will be doing some serious modding of my units.. Thank you! atari8warez #2 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) Do you have a link to that upgrade? Edited January 26, 2012 by atari8warez
BillC #3 Posted January 26, 2012 This may or may not be what you are looking for. http://www.atariarchives.org/cfn/12/02/0080.php
MEtalGuy66 #4 Posted January 26, 2012 You dont want that.. Use this instead: http://www.horus.com/~hias/atari/sram13.zip It's much better, easier, costs less, does alot more, and puts alot less capacitance/load on the bus.. If you plan to extensively mod the machine, you need to realize that everything you hang off the data bus increases the propogation time on the bus, and can potentialy cause stability issues when the bus timing gets far enough out of whack in relation to PHI2. 1 Sram chip is alot better than 8 additional drams.. Plus, with hias's mod, you get 576k, and the ability to make it nonvolatile (by adding a small battery) if you want..
atari8warez #5 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Do you have a GAL programmer that I can borrow, otherwise it's gonna be an expensive RAM upgrade Edited February 23, 2012 by atari8warez
sloopy #6 Posted February 23, 2012 I need my GAL programmer, but I can send you a pre-programmed GAL... usually $8 shipped in the US... to .ca probably $10 shipped... sloopy.
atari8warez #7 Posted February 23, 2012 Sounds good, I'll let you know when I get to the upgrading project..
Marius #8 Posted February 23, 2012 I built that upgrade of hias! It is fabulous. One thing: get yourself a small piece of hobby print to mount the gal at. It is real messy when you do it all directly on the gal!
atari8warez #9 Posted February 24, 2012 Oh I've got tons of that already, programmers though kinda expensive but I will eventually get one if i have to continue with my 8 bit hobby.
