Atari Arcade On My Kindle Fire

Recommended Posts

Just paid 10$ for 99 atari arcade games that I can play on my kindle (android platform) and yes they are represented in vector graphics form as the originals!

BIG SMILES AND GIGGLES HERE!!

I just gave my GF one of these for Christmas. Tonight she opens here gift. Since I have an iPad, figured she'd get a kick out of the Fire but where'd you get the 99 games for $10? sounds pretty cool.

BTW: how's your Fire holding up? Seemed a little cheap/chinsey feeling to me, but then again, I'm used to the quality of the iPad. Of course, she's going to be a lot harder on this sort of thing than I.

Nevermind... found it! This little Kindle Fire thing is really neat. Kind of like a faux iPad. So far, seems like a bargain and well worth the $200. Thanks for the heads up on the Atari games!

the finger pad controls touchscreen is difficult but i did finally land my lunar module. the fire has limitations but it is really solid for what you get. only one vidoe format works mp4 and you have to have wifi to sync with your purchases, books, movies etc. only 8 gig unit. I like the size in the hand but i will probably go with the ipad when ipad 3 comes out..

Merry Christmas

Thanks Rockdoc20101 and Merry Christmas to you too.

Played around with it a little more yesterday and she's really digging it. I like it too. Downloaded the latest update for it and gotta say I'm quite impressed with the speed and functionality of this little thing. Size is great too. Also, not sure if the demo units are different at Best Buy or if they just come "loose" from all the abuse, but the new one I got her has a nicer feel to it. Good quality unit for the money all around.

BTW: I later found the Atari package is also available for the iPad, but not sure I'm gonna pop another $10 for it. The arcade games are nice for a few minutes, but I'm never going to sit there and play any of those 2600 games on it. Especially Basic Math.

I was sold on the Arcade games .. all still vector format..they could just sell the 18 arcade games for ten bucks if you asked me..

Games like Joust and several others arent liscenced by Atari so no joy on those non atari arcades.
